Clean, tidy good value hotel and we felt better than the Travelodge and Premier Inn style businesses which they are competing against.

There’s a bar with a limited food menu which are useful, with a carvery pub and a Frankie and Benny’s next door if a more substantial meal is required.

On arrival, there was no reception desk leaving us wondering around the ground floor feeling very lost until someone came out from the bar area with what looked like a mobile phone in his hand to check us in. The room was basic but OK and the bed was comfortable. No shower curtain on the shower though leaving water to spray out all over the floor making it a potential slip hazard. The absolute worse thing about this "hotel" though is the noise at night. None of the doors (bedroom or corridor ones) have any kind of mechanism on them to stop them slamming shut and waking everyone up. There are no signs about telling people to keep their voices down and be respectful of other guests trying to sleep at night. Twice my husband had to go out into the corridor to tell people to be quiet. There was an interconnecting door in our bedroom which thankfully was locked as the occupants of the adjacent room tried to come through to our room at 2.30am one morning. The door also had a gap at the bottom meaning that light came through as well as their noise. Would have gone to reception to complain but guess what? No reception desk! Did not try eating here but I can recommend the nearby Brewers Fayre for breakfast. Next time I'm in this area (which will be next month), we'll be booking at the Travelodge instead and won't care if it costs any more.

Made a corporate booking for 38 rooms over 2 nights. Came in my car on second night to collect guests for a party and received a £60 parking fine for waiting 34mins. Hotel refused to help clear it when I know they can add visitors to the approved list, IBIS head office impossible to contact even though I posted a letter, emailed and called. Eventually got one person who never contacted me back. Will never use again as worst customer service I've experienced. Oh and car park company Civil Enforcement Ltd refused any appeal and also do not recognise national ombudsmen... because they are crooks.

We stayed here for a night and the lady that checked us in and served us was wonderful and couldn't do enough to help us.
Hotel was clean and comfortable.
Will definitely be back.
Our only complaint would be the room doors slam loudly when closing.

As a cheap room this hotel fits the bill. But have breakfast at the Windmill Farm next door. Same price, better food and selection.
BE Ware of the car park. If you don't register your car then a couple of months after your visit you will receive a nasty bill. This is your responsibility, but as a guest of the hotel it spoil be an automatic function.
