Went to this hotel for a long weekend.
It is pretty much on the inside up a hill, so not ideally located if you’re not going with your own car.
Rooms are a little dusty-smelling and the blanket was quite dusty.
The food was average: scones did not live up to the claims of being best in Cameron. The lunch dishes were overpriced and average. The internet was spotty, but apparently it is undergoing an upgrade. The bathroom was serviceable and had good hot water.
The usp of this place is its fantastic garden: lovely to just hang around with a cup of tea or something stronger and read a book. The plants seem semi-wild, but have obviously been very planted and maintained well. The place has a quaint air about it, and I can imagine some of the cottages must be quite romantic. We stayed in a room on the long corridor and had a view of the garden.
A place to stay in if you’re looking for a quaint getaway but are not particular about great room service or bed linen.More
