“Excellent cottage, lovely location, very well equipped and comfortable”
Reviewed 25 October 2015 for a stay in October 2015

We enjoyed our stay at Harbour Cottage. It's cosy, clean and well equipped. The welcome pack is a lovely touch, and the wood burning stove was a real asset in the evenings. It's a great cottage for couples or families, and I would recommend it.

Glad you enjoyed your stay. There's something about a real fire that always makes everything seem very cosy and homely, especially now that the evenings are getting darker. Hope to see you again sometime.

“Home from home”
Reviewed 4 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We had a lovely extended weekend staying at Harbour Cottage . The location was excellent by the harbour and a view of the church on the hill a beautiful way to start the day. We arrived late in the evening and were able to access the cottage easily from the instructions forwarded to us from the owners Ian & Ishbel. We used the two upstairs bedrooms which were spacious with very comfortable beds. The cottage has everything we needed inside and out . It was lovely to be able to enjoy a glass of wine sitting on the patio overlooking the harbour we also had great weather ! Wifi was good and there was a welcome pack provided which was a nice touch. There was a large selection of information brochures about the local area and many books and toys for children. The cottage is well maintained and spotless. The stairs are steep but not a problem. Findochty was beautiful as usual.

Thanks for your review. The patio overlooking the harbour is often commented on as being the best location in the village. We take pride in the cleanliness of our cottages and do all the cleaning and maintenance ourselves.

“Home from home in gorgeous Findochty”
Reviewed 28 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

We are so glad we booked the Harbour Cottage for our stay in Finechty, it was the most fabulous week and we made lots of memories that will stay with us forever.

For me, I was going home and taking my family to see where I grew up and played as a kid. From the minute I arrived I knew we made the right decision, Ishbel was waiting for us to give us a warm welcome, show us around the house and even left a welcome pack of food and wine for us to enjoy as we settled in. The house is well appointed, decorated tastefully and very clean. The patio overlooks the gorgeous harbour and we enjoyed entertaining old friends over a glass of wine during the gorgeous summer evenings.

Ishbel and Ian really thought of everything when equipping the house, it really was a home from home. Thankfully we did not find the playstation until we were packing up to leave but it may have come in handy during rainy days, however we were blessed with amazing weather and it was wonderful watching our kids playing with their cousins outside.

Ishbel and Ian really have a gem of a cottage in the most ideal spot. Our kids haven't stopped talking about climbing rocks and playing on McKenzie beach, we definitely look forward to staying here again.

Truly a wonderful home from home, thanks Ishbel and Ian for making out stay so memorable!!

Thanks for the great review. So pleased that staying in the cottage was such a memorable experience. When we furnished and equipped it, we tried to think of everything that we would like to have in it ourselves if we were to stay there.

“Great cottage ,Great view ,Great holiday”
Reviewed 13 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

This cottage is clean and well kept, it has a good view onto harbour and a cosy log burner for the cold evenings. Lots of toys for the kids and central for all the other coastal villages. Plenty golf, fishing and long walks on the doorstep. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Try it you wont be disappointed.

“A beautiful cottage for perfect holidays!”

After a warm welcome by Ishbel we enjoyed our first tea by the sea sitting on the patio with a lovely view to the harbour. Thank you very much to Ishbel and Ian for the starter pack, this has been highly appreciated. We had all kinds of Scottish weather and the cottage was appropriate for all of them - sitting in front of the wood burning stove on cooler, rainy days or enjoying beautiful sunsets outside on the Patio. We really enjoyed the coastal walks to both sides of Findochty, the Moray Coastal Trail is really recommendable. To buy fresh fish in Buckie (Eat Mair Fisch) in the morning promised a nice dinner every day, and they also supply cooked lobster on request. Also Speyside - the whisky-country - is not far away - but we always enjoyed to return to our tranquil cottage by the sea.
We will certainly be back!

Liked best: Location directly in the harbour
Liked least: A small coffee bar/tabel in the kitchen would be great to enjoy the kitchen view for a first morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evenings.
