“Very Relaxing Weekend Getaway from Bangalore!!”

I visited this place with my friends and I loved my stay here.
I spent the whole day enjoying the food and the activities. Swimming pool is great and so is the bonfire at night. Food was delicious.

It is around 30 Kms away from the hill station, Coorg

It was a trip planned to detox from a hectic professional life. The idea was to drive early morning and enjoy the green patches, the home stay is very near to the Golden Temple Monastery and is an ideal place for some one who is planning to visit Coorg. Upon entering the property we got a cottage having two bedrooms, though it was more then enough for my wife and kids as it was having two bedrooms and two toilets. We were told at the time of booking that AC rooms are occupied though we could only find only one more family who were our neighbors in one of the cottages. I guess idea was to get the max out of the cottages :)

The highlight was them renting the swimming pool to a group of local Tibetians for a complete day when they have guests in their cottages, and there were 20-30 individuals playing in and around the pool, which didn't looked extremely hygienic to go and have a swim with kids.

I must say the property is very nice, it is like owning a farm house and visiting on weekends. I enjoyed the greenery and the atmosphere. However, the food served to us was complete letdown. We were satisfied with the homely cooked food on first day during lunch, but were amazed to see that the menu kept on repeating everyday (The breakfast was nice though).

Definitely a place to visit but you would not like to revisit the place again.

Room Tip: Cottages are nice, if you are traveling with a large group.

I would definetly recommend this Home stay to others. Very courteous people at the homestay. Our guest in charge Jeevan was very helpful, polite and gave very good attention to our needs. The rooms where clean and hot & cold running water. The food was really GR8. Authentic coorg food Black pepper pork, chicken, vegetable etc. graciously laid on the table piping hot sumptious and good quantity & quality food. Everything at this Homestay made our 3N-4D stay memorable experience. - Kevin Fernandes & Family, Mumbai email: kfernandes@indiatimes.com

Hi.... i have been to BOP more than 3 times and is a great place to leave behind the city blues and get into the green green coorg..People in the homestay are very friendly and would not hesitate to go a step beyond to service the guests. To name a few it is Jeevan and ashok. Do not miss to have the pandi curry prepered by the chef Manju.. They have a well maintained swiming pool.. Over all a great place to stay..

Room Tip: The tree house is great ..

I had a mixed feeling while staying in Birds of Paradise, Kushal nagar, Home stay
First for the positives:
Neatly maintained and well laid out property, A lovely Tree house, Awesome swimming pool, courteous people and good ambience

Now for the things which needs improvement:
House keeping - Sorry...We have stayed for three days. They have not even cared to replace the towels which they have kept on Day 1. And they don't give you Soaps, Shampoos etc. Luckily we had all of these
Hot water...The water is supposed to come from the fire place created using woods. But none of the guests have got. Not even Luke warm water. Leave alone hot water
Cottage: One of the bathrooms attached to a bed room don't have ventillation. We could not stand the stinking smell. We could not use the bed room mainly due to this. No problems in drainage. Lack of ventillation is the main issue. Not sure which architech's brilliant idea is this
Food: Good food..but not a suitable timing. You don't get to see the breakfast until 8.30 AM in the morning, Lunch will be coming to you only by 1.30 PM and You don't get Dinner until 8.30 - 9.00 PM. This will not suit for people who follows early to bed, early to rise and definitely not suitable for Elders and Kids. And you have to depend on them for food...You don't get anything good to eat in the vincinity of 5 kms...Breakfast menu is the same for all the three days...Wondering the logic behind it.

We have given all these in the Suggestions book. I hope they take it seriously and improve on it. Unless this is done i am unable to recommend it to others

Overall a Mixed feeling...
