“Excellent Place an unforgettable experience”
Reviewed 10 October 2011

An excellent place. You have to cross a small river to reach the place. Beautiful cottages with windows facing the stream. Cottages exquisitely decorated with coffe wood. Very helpful and attentive staff. Hight light of the trip is the expereince of giving a bath to the elephants. Kids will never forget it. I took my child on his birthday and he was ecstatic. You get about one hour to give an elephant a bath inthe river. The staff also organize a safari in the reserved park, wherien if you are lucky you get to see some bisons. Good quality food and you can even suggest a menu to the cook the previous evening. An excellent place for the family and the kids, worth a two night stay. I will definitely be back.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms facing the river. You get an excellent view in the morning.

Stayed here for one night and experienced the safari, nature trek and the elephant interaction.

Reached here during a time when it was mostly rainy and it was slushy everywhere.

Had to park my car on one side of the river bank as they take you by boat to the camp across the Cauvery river. All staff right from the guard who greets you at the other side of the river bank to everyone in the jungle camp are very courteous and helpful.

Food was particulary better in taste than what you would find at other KArnataka state resorts.

The safari was a dissapointment as we didnt spot anything but a few deers and peacocks. But the resort authorities had informed everyone clearly that spotting a wild Elephant is very rare.

The nature trek in the morning is good even though it was drizlling a lot. The guide explains the different kinds of flora and fauna in the forest and its also a good chance to venture into another side of the forest.

The room had a good jungle cabin feel to it and you could tell that it has been recently renovated with the bathroom looking clean and new.

The next morning we also had the elephant interaction session. Its when they feed the tamed elephants that they have at the camp. This is when you can get up close to the elephants and also their small ones.

Overall we took back enjoyable memories from here.

Dirty disorgainized and a total waste of money. As a non resident Indian or Foringner you pay 50 per cent more than anyone else. Jeep safari everyone crammed in so no one can see anything. Dinning room discusting running alive with ants because no bothered to clean up, glass topped tables wiped with dirty cloth would not eat there on a bet. No time for the coracle ride as too many people and they only had one working and breakfast was being served ( if you dont like curry for breakfast you get toast and some form of jam) so dont bother. Elephant activities not what the web page states No Naturalist explaining anything about Elephants. You share the washing and feeding with hundreds of other people who come across the river in every boat possible not even sure if any of them paid. Our elephant ride was cancelled at the last munite because the mahauts decided that dressing up and banging a drum and being totaly iritating for easy money was better than actually doing what they where paid for and no one at management level did anyhthing about it. Rooms where clean but one of ours leaked and the other looked as if the bathroom was about to part company with the rest of the building. All in all not worth the time or money which is a shame as it could have been a great place given some tlc. Do not recommend this place to anyone better to go to Kerala . Staff nice and friendly but in need of training do not blame them for anything . Some serious management issues here which need sorting very soon.

Room Tip: Go some where else

This is my first review.
we booked this place from the net.It took us around 5 hrs to reach from Bangalore by road.
the 5 hr journey is worth it especially in the rainy season. Once i reached Dubare there was a separate point to take us to the resort.the resort is amidst the jungle and they have tried their best to keep it like a jungle lodge. the rooms have bare minimum but that has and should be expected.the bathrooms are quite clean.we had a two hour jungle safari by open jeep in the evening which was good.In the early morning we had a hike and that was invigorating and after that the charole ride was also good.the elephant interaction camp was a let down though because these people have day trips also and this makes it very crowded and the elephant ride is TOO short.

the service is okay, basically no service is required because everything is self service only morning tea is served in the rooms.
The food is ok but not a strong point.
the food has brought down the rating by one notch for me.
