We stayed recently here for 1 night. Firstly this is in Kushalnagar which is 30kms away from Madikeri where you would ideally want to stay. This feels really like a resort in Bangalore and not something in the hills. Next day when we went to Madikeri we realized we should have really stayed here among the hills, mist and greenery. You can always visit the tourist spots nearby Kushalnagar by a cab from Madikeri vs staying here.
Coming to the hotel, it is a well maintained hotel with decent staff/service and facilities Although for anything the hotel staff first thinks about money/charges versus customer experience. Any interaction with hotel staff makes it a little unpleasant. Also it is not a very big hotel that you can walk around and relax. But there is good greenery and flowers.
About the food, the breakfast spread and quality was good. We had great breakfast both times. However lunch and dinner menu and food was bad and you might want to eat outside. But problem is since this is on the main road you might not find something easily.
The pool is also nice but only 4 feet deep. There are games like carrom, chess, TT etc and small play area for kids in the premises also.
Lastly this hotel charges for early check-in. We were surprised that despite rooms being available, they werent willing to let us check in a few hours early. Charged us almost half price of the hotel for a few hours. Started the trip on a bad note.
Overall very average stay and not at all worth the exorbitant amount we spent. Recommend to book something else for your holidays.

Dear Mr.Anand,

Greetings from Purple Palms Resort...

We thank you for the valuable time taken to share the feedback.

With reference to the point mentioned with regard to the early check in, we would like to explain the below.
Early check in (few hours early) is around 10 am which we always consider depending upon the availability of
ready rooms. We do not charge for the same. However check in at 5 am is too early and is almost 8 hours
early to the check in time of 12 noon. The charges applicable will be of full day. It will considered as 2 nights
stay. But we did charge 22% as early check in charges which was inclusive of breakfast and taxes against
our published tariff of Rs.13440/-. This is certainly not exorbitant.

PS:
we have sent a mail to MMT special request which says it will be forwarded to guest on 18th September at
3.55 pm mentioning that charges will be applicable for early check in.

Regards

I chose this resort during our visit to Coorg based on the tripadvisor reviews and must say it was a pleasant experience staying here. The service is excellent, very prompt and the property is big and well maintained. The rooms are really big compared to other resorts of the like! This is a little far from the actual Madikeri town however is very close to the Namdroling Monastery, Dubare elephant camp and Nisargdhama forest. The swimming pool is awesome. They do have indoor sports however if want to play pool that’s chargeable! Food is average for the price charged and could be improved, however the breakfast platter is great!
One advice to the management - You could place clocks in rooms and common areas
