I stayed 3 nights a Greenwich Creek Lodge while doing some fishing in the area. This is a great little place right on the water. The room was clean, spacious, had a coffee maker, fridge, and AC that kept things nice and cool. There’s a nice pool on the property and kayaks you can take out for exploring. The sunsets from the balcony are pretty stunning as well.
Lastly, I can’t say enough good things about Janice who runs the place. She was incredibly helpful in helping me get my trip setup and was very knowledgeable about the island.

Although the weather and accommodations were very good, the fishing was a little slow.
This is my eleventh year of fishing from Greenwich, I would not think of going anyplace else. Janice is a great host and makes sure everything goes smoothly.

Room tip: Rooms overlooking the bay have a beautiful sunset.

What a beautiful lodge, with nicely fitted rooms, a beautiful view out to the creek. This place is the perfect dwelling for explorers who want to be central and close to nature. Me and my girlfriend had nights in Long Island, we decided to split 3 days at Greenwich creek lodge to discover the middle and south of the island and then 2 days at Stella Maris to discover the north. If we were to come again, we would spend all of our time here. It is exactly what we were looking for to enjoy the island at its raw and natural best.
The owner Miriam was very informative about the Caribbean, Long island and the surrounding outter islands of Bahamas. She was very in tune with our desire to explore and go off the beaten track. Janice was just fantastic, so incredibly helpful. If she didn't know the answer, she would go out of her way to find it. The Lodge has had a run of bad luck with hurricanes over the past few years but with its location, its target of attracting the adventurous, the beautiful building and the enthusiasm of Janice I wish and hope that it has a free run through the coming years and is the success it deserves to be. I have no doubt we will be back at some point and we will most definitely make this the first choice for a place to stay.

Room tip: Try to get a room with a view of the creek

My girlfriend and I enjoyed an amazing stay on Long Island. Miriam Cartwright (the proprietor at Greenwich) gave us so many fantastic suggestions and didn't steer us wrong one time. We rented a car and toured the island from tip to tip stopping and enjoying amazing vistas, while finding hidden treasures where privacy and beauty were in abundance.

The room itself was great. Very clean with a comfortable king bed, plenty of AC when required, great water pressure in the shower, and nice amenities such as a safe and mini-fridge. Right outside our door is the large wrap around porch which had amazing views of the salt flats and ocean beyond. A relaxing warm breeze and the fish swimming in the creek below just immediately set you at ease.

The lodge is just a short 3-5 minute jaunt from the Deadman's Cay Airport, and its central location was great for our touring to attempt to take in as much of gorgeous and spacious Long Island as we could in 3 days. I have been to 13 different Bahama Islands and Cays, and Long Island is simply the most varied and stunning I have visited. From English looking cliffs and rugged beauty in the north at the Christopher Columbus Monument, to tranquil sandy beaches in the south without another soul in sight.

Be sure to try the "Up the Creek", signature drink in the bar area down stairs. They have a very well appointed kitchen and comfortable seating area for relaxing with a drink inside at the bar, or stepping out onto the veranda. The pool was clean and refreshing.

This island had a little bit of everything, including a hopping night club just a few miles south if you want that. Otherwise peace and quiet, privacy, isolation, and relaxation almost anywhere you wanted to go. Friendly people everywhere we stopped, even found a nice pair of swimming trunks at a store just down the road, since I had forgotten mine somehow.

For price, value, and the entire experience, you will have a hard time topping this place.
