We were staying in Rothesay and was recommended this hotel for lunch, the food was really good, all homemade and delicious. We had scallops, langoustines, fish pie, steak and ale pie.. all great. Well worth the little ferry ride. Worth calling ahead to let them know you are coming.

Local produce is used to produce this tasty Gastro Pub food. The bar is cosy and the staff very helpful.

A great pub meal, with the freshest ingredients. Generous portions, decent prices. And such nice service. The views are also stunning

I’ve wanted to eat here in the evening having stopped by a few times for a soup whilst on a bike ride. It’s a great stop for that and the cullen skink is spot on.

The pub has a nice ambience inside. Character without overkill but it doesn’t seat too many so you’ll need to book ahead or take a chance.

I had scallops and venison casserole plus a few pints of quality beer and an apricot bread and croissant pudding. Everything was really nice and tasty and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Value for money? It’s certainly not cheap. £65 for 2 with a shared starter, 2 main courses and a shared desert plus 2 drinks each. I’m happy to pay that to keep this place open but watch the prices please. Not all your customers have yachts !!

I have enjoyed this amazing food several times over the past eight years. It was always extremely fresh and prepared to the highest standards. A great mixture of "down-to-earth" food with just the right amount of creativity and fines!
Freshly caught fish and seafood, local meat and some amazing deserts are available. The menu is quit large and caters to every taste. The bear is presented well, the wine list is not extensive but offers a view good vintages.

Worth a travel!
And - there are four rooms if you want to enjoy more than one glass of wine :)
