I'm on my way back to Toronto after spending the last 8 days at SHBL on Andros. I returned after a 14 year hiatus but eventually knew I would get myself back there. To my delight, it had remained virtually unchanged since my last visit. Its relatively small and intimate setting was exactly what I was looking for.
Small Hope affords you solitude and social time. Some unbelievable and breath-taking diving with a diving staff that are top-notch professionals yet very personable. I hadn't been diving in 10 years but we did the refresher to get me reacquainted and comfortable underwater again.
The staff are more like family than employees. They are warm, genuine and really care about your stay.
The environment promotes interaction with other guests but is not forced down your throat if it's not your thing. I was travelling solo for my first time but the level of interaction was perfect. I made some tremendous friends from all around the world and am richer for the experience.
I'm looking forward to bringing my kids down here and introduce them to the Small Hope Bay fraternity.More
