“A nice stop if you are visiting Gold Rock Beach”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

We were visiting Gold Rock Beach and stopped to see the caves first. The loop around the caves is not very long but the caves are quite beautiful. The water is a brilliant blue and you can see fish swimming. Definitely worth a stop to see both the caves and the beach.

“Stunning”

So beautiful with the sunlight streaming through and lighting up the crystal blue water. Lots of fish and photo opportunities here! Simply breath taking.

“Just a 10 minute walk”
Reviewed 28 January 2012

The Lucayan National Park is split into two sections - the caves on the north side of the road and the beach on the south side of the road. Going to both sides is fun if you have kids and want something to do one afternoon. The cost is $5.00 per person to park and walk around.

To see the caves, it's a 10 minute easy to walk loop. The first cave is the most interesting, it has stairs to walk down, the sun shines down thru the caves where you can see many fish. Tip: bring bread to toss into the cave and feed the fish. This is the best cave to take pictures in also. The next cave is a little boring, not much to see.

I rated the caves average because I expected to see more caves but it's more of the glimpse. I heard experienced scuba divers can navigate thru the cave down to the ocean. Worth the walk across the street to the beach where there is a huge sandbar early in the afternoon. Tip: bring snacks and water.

Part of Lucayan National Park. Admission is $5 & includes the hiking to see the caves & also the beach. Worth the small hike. The path is easy. The caves are very interesting to see.

“Worth a look”
Reviewed 22 January 2012

Not sure I would make the trip just to see the caves but they don't take long and can be done in combination with Gold Rock Beach across the street.

If we had driven through what looks like the pine barrens of New Jersey splattered with palms here and there just for this, it would have been a disappointment unless you were someone who is really into caves.

About 30 minutes out of Lucaya, don't drive to fast or you might drive right by. Enjoyed lunch at Bishops after just a bit further down the road. Very authentic Bahamian settlement there. If you go on Sunday, you will be treated to churchgoer dressed in their Sunday best. (at Bishop's not Ben's Cave)
