We always drive by just to admire this castle but we just found out they are now doing tours. Unfortunately we were not there long enough to work it in our schedule.

Waste of money! Tour was around the YARD showing you trees(mango, seagrapes, coco plum etc..) and also some fishes in a small pond! Then went through the front door and saw a glimse of the front room and and stairs. It was NOT what was expected!!

Before arriving in Freeport, reserve a tour of Cooper's Castle by contacting them either through their website or via Trip Advisor. Unfortunately the Cooper's do not have a tour bus/taxi to pick you up so make sure that you hire a taxi service to take you directly to the Castle. We were told at the taxi stand that we would be taken there but ended up on a tour bus of the city. Things got worked out to where we eventually got to the castle but missed our appointment time. We were extremely excited that Cooper's Castle was able rescheduled our tour.
The tour was AWESOME!!! Fendi, the tour guide, words can't explain his energy, enthusiasm and knowledge of the Cooper family history. The tour fee was $20 and worth it. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to venture upstairs to the living areas or to take pictures inside which was okay and understandable. The view from the veranda was breathtaking and the cool breeze from the ocean just make you want to never leave. Going inside the gated area is much more worth your time in Freeport then just taking a picture from the road.

We only visited from the road and took pictures, but the story behind the castle is so heartfelt and interesting. It is worth pulling off the road for.

Getting information for this tour was a bit difficult. We tried to contact them through their website but we got an error message. We eventually found their email address and contacted them and then it was not problem - they were very helpful and quick to reply.
We did not see any information listed anywhere that there was a fee for this tour so when it ended and we needed to pay $60, we were shocked. ($20 per person.) We did not have enought money to pay. (They only take cash.) They were accomodating and understood and we arranged payment through another method.

The tour guide (Fendi) was super friendly and animated. He seems genuinely passionate about this family. You learn that he has a history with them and he is a great ambassador for this family.

You do not get to see very much of this beautiful home. I understand they still live there, so I would not want people walking through my house either. However, I think the fee could reflect this. The only part you get to see is one entry way that allows you to look at a living room and a dining room - and no photos are allowed. I think $10 would be a more appropriate fee for this tour.

Despite the cost though, I found the tour very inspiring. A lovely family story and one that demonstrates a strong faith. We were glad to have been able to learn about this family.
