“Luxury and Expensive all the way!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2012

I stayed at The Cove Atlantis for 4 nights with a friend in August. We had 2 queen beds in an ocean view suite. The view from the balcony was of the ocean/beaches and some of the property, It was beautiful! The room was great and very spacious! The bathroom had a shower, toilet, huge tub and his and her sinks. Hair dryer provided and beauty products. Walk in wardrobe with safe, hangers and iron/iron board. beds were very comfortable and the room was clean. 2 tv's, one situated in front of the beds and the other in the living space which had a sofa (pull out bed), coffee table and another desk and chairs. Air con was great and mini bar was available. The Cove was stunning! The other towers just don't measure up. The Cain pool was great! Only guests who stay in the Cove tower have access to this area. There are 3 different pools and the deck chairs are very comfortable. No children here! Get down early to get a good spot. I laid out in the chairs and then walked 30 seconds to The Cove beach rather than dipping myself in the chemical water. You are in the Bahamas so head to the beach rather than the pools! The Cain pool offers table service so we ordered cocktails (they seemed a little watered down) and food which was good. Service was a little slow though. There are cabanas to hire although these go for 550 a day! The water slides are included and they were fun however the line up is long at each and every one of them. This is frstrating when you have paid so much for the rooms! The gym was 40 dolars for 3 days but worth it! You get a free bottle of water and a piece of fruit. The gym is huge with excellent equipment however minimal florr space for stretching and ab work. I paid 105 for three days of Stott Pilates. I strongly reccomend this. The instructors were fantastic and 2 out of the 3 classes it was just me so I practically got a private class for half the prices! Internet access costs 20 dollars a day and can be used on 4 devices. 20 a day is an absolute rip off! The Atlantis tries to get every last dollar out of you! Even the pool boys who provide towels to you at the cain pool want a tip! If you want to eat out bring your credit card with a huge balance! And you need to make reservations or you will be waiting in line for a bad pizza for an hour! We ate at Virgils BBQ which was excellent but pricy! for 2 pieces of grilled salmon, this was 42 dollars!!!!! Then a side of grilled vegies was 26. You have no choice but to pay these over the top prices. The Cove and the Resort is absolutely beautiful however for the price your paying for the room there is no value for money. Breakfast is not included and the restaurants are all pricy including the take away places. Not worth the money to vists the beaches at the Bahamas. Go the the Greek islands instead - they have culture, fresh food, great bars and the most amazing beaches in the world, all for half the price.

Room Tip: Get a room in the CovebTower! You get exclusive access to the Cain Pool area which is steps away fro...

This was our 4th trip to the Atlantis resort in 2 years and our second visit to the Cove. The other two times we stayed at the Reef as we had gone with a larger family group.

The Cove at the Atlantis is very similar to the Reef in that both have the best beach front location, free from cruiseship tourists (not allowed on Cove/Reef beach) and both are very modern new buildings. The Cove does not have kitchenettes and offers entry to an "adults only" day club/pool called the Cain, and so has been coined an "adults" hotel. In reality, there are many people with families/choi staying there. You will not be dissapointed if you stay at either the Reef or the Cove as both are pretty much the same in terms of the amenities.

The rooms are large and modern, with nice oversized bathrooms. All rooms feature a king bed and a sofa bed. Even at the Reef, if you are travelling with a family, you will most likely not be able to get 2 double beds as there is only one double room per floor at the Reef. Someone will be sleeping on the pull out sofa. At the Cove and Reef the king bed is a little overly firm but still good.

The service on the property is very good (when compared to most other carribean resorts). The activites at the Atlantis are plentiful, but you may not have much time for activities as the beach is absolutely beautiful (we just love this place for its' perfect beach). Calm, perfectly clear water with powder soft sand.

The food at Atlantis is pretty much a disappointment regardless of where you go. You will not go hungry, but don't think you are going to have your best meal or most memorable meal here at Atlantis. Regarding the food and prices, as someone else correctly stated: if you are worried about prices for food/drinks, this is not the place for you. Yes you will pay $16 for a margarita at the Caine. Yes, everything is expensive, but what can you do. You're on paradise island, and you don't have many other options. If you are looking to save, head to Starbucks for a coffee and sandwich, and you will not be disappointed.

Overall, this is a nice modern building on a most beautiful section of pristine beach. Go and enjoy yourself. I think it is impossible to have a bad time at Atlantis (if you're at the Cove or Reef). If you're staying at one of the economy towers at Atlantis like Royal, Beach, or some of the other motel-type unrenovated towers like Coral, I hear things are different there. In the end, you get what you pay for.

Room Tip: Dont bother paying for the upgraded "Deluxe" room, all rooms are the same and you may stil...

We arrived at Atlantis on August 9th. We stayed at the Cove. The room offered an excellent view of the waterpark, ocean, and Atlantis resort. Check in was speedy, and the overall feel was inviting. My son and husband immediately went to the water slides after lite fast food lunch at poolside, Cascades. The food
was forgettable, but the service was quick -- and we needed some snack before tackling the slides. The water slides were GREAT. The Abyss, a slide on the "power tower", is a straight,
steep drop in complete darkness followed by some up and down sliding. When you come out, you are underground in a cave with a little lake of water. After that warm up ride, my guys braved the Leap of Faith -- a straight 60 foot drop slide and into a watery tube gliding through a well stocked shark tank! The wait can be
long for this daring ride -- prepare to wait 20 minutes for a 3 second ride. But it was most definitely worth it. Of all nine slides at Atlantis these were my son's two favorites. We enjoyed the one mile Lazy River with good rapids and waves to keep the splahes coming! And the Challenger slides were rush enough for Mom! Returning the the Cove at night was quiet and calm after the crazy of all the aqua adventure. Ample room for our family of 3. Worth the extra price, for sure. Only wish wireless was free!

had a really great time at the Cove, all adult pool was great. I found that a lot of the teenagers go to the two night clubs they have there. It makes you not really want to go out dancing in thier night clubs. They really need a 30's plus club or a 18 to 29 club. it is expensive so budget yourself. Go to local store and get groceries and snacks it will save you money. Staff was great and friendly. I would for sure go again.

Room Tip: if you do not bring children, i would recommend the cove,

This is my second time staying at the Cove. This building is much more high-end than the other Atlantis towers. When you first pull up to the hotel, it feels different than the rest of the Atlantis. You really do feel like you are in an exclusive beach resort. The lobby is outdoors (the check-in area is inside however), so you get the nice sea breeze while you are walking to your room or the various restaurants and stores. The finishes here are really nice.

The rooms themselves are very large. The connecting rooms are great. Each room has its own door into the hallway, but there is a large set of double doors first that you can close to create your own foyer with the two entrance doors to the rooms. The rooms are large and have balconies (the room with two queens had a small balcony, the king room had a large balcony with table and chairs). The beds were very comfortable.

The bathrooms are huge here! There is a large glass shower and a big separate tub. There are two sinks and a separate room for the toilet. Everything worked well in one of the two rooms we had, but the other room had a lot of bathroom problems (bathtub drain clogged, toilet clogged and wouldn't flush, low water pressure in the shower).

The rooms weren't cleaned very well. There was a lot of hair in the shower drain when we got there, and it stayed there for another two nights until it was finally cleaned. The floor had some pieces of paper on it the entire time. Overall, it seemed clean, but it looked like it wasn't maintained the way it should have been. The public areas always looked clean.

Overall, I would definitely return. The rooms are large and nicely appointed, and this whole side of Atlantis is a lot more upscale then the rest - yet, you still have access to all the same amenities as the rest of the resort.

Room Tip: Make sure to ask for connecting rooms if you want to create your own suite with two rooms.
