As a backpacker wanting to visit the Bahamas, your options can seem somewhat limited. BahaSea is the perfect solution if you can’t afford the luxury resorts but want some sun, relaxation, peace and quiet but in a backpacker friendly atmosphere.
Yes, you can believe the pictures on the booking website. The view is that beautiful and you do get a private beach. It’s not like a traditional hostel. The place is a row of houses that have been converted. It’s essentially like being in a big house share and that’s all part of the charm. You can cook for yourself in a proper kitchen, you have huge living spaces both inside and out. The bathrooms are luxurious. The beds are comfortable. The WiFi is strong, as is the aircon. The place is spotlessly clean. It’s close to the airport, there’s a supermarket nearby and it’s on the main bus route to downtown if you want to go there. And at this price, you simply can’t beat it.
The staff that run the place are lovely. They set the atmosphere and make it really welcoming. It’s a fairly new venture so they’re adding further touches to make it even better (like a bar in the evenings). I could’ve stayed here longer, hope to return one day and would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for backpacker accommodation in Nassau. I would say it’s one of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in, but to call it a hostel doesn’t really do it justice.

First class accommodation at bargain basement price! Beautiful clean hostel. Set on a private beach + has small swimming pool. Great kitchen! On West Bay Street - u can catch a bus right in front to downtown or big supermarket. (You will Not want to drive in Nassau - congestion & traffic = horrible ). This was a great find in Nassau, especially for a traveler who prefers to cook rather than eat at restaurants.

Room Tip: this place is new & there is no sign, tell taxi driver it is across from Club One Fitness Center on West Bay Street !
