My family chartered a full day trip with Island Roots last summer. This is our second time booking with Captain Jason. He is very accommodating, and since he grew up on STJ, he is also very knowledgeable about the area. He truly loves STJ and cares about the environment. He shared some pretty cool stories and told us the location of a couple of amazing snorkeling spots on the island that are not well known to tourists, which we went to later on in the week. Amazing!! While on charter, we snorkeled the caves and Indians, stopped at Pirate's Blight for a fabulous lunch and ended up at the Soggy Dollar. He has plenty of extra snorkeling gear onboard, which came in handy when my mask from home started to leak. The best part of the charter is that we could plan our trip to go wherever we wanted. There were no preset destinations or itineraries like some other charters. We loved having the flexibility to customize our day. We are returning to STJ again in July and can't wait for the highlight of our trip: motoring around the islands with Captain Jason. Look no further. Island Roots is the best and most affordable charter on STJ!!

Absolutely the highlight of our week in St. John. The snorkeling was amazing, and could not have asked for a better captain. We were able to snorkel in a few different spots, each one unique (mangroves, rocks, coral, etc.). It was nice to get away from our normal spots accessed from the beach. Highly recommend!! Most relaxing day of our vacation.
Our family (my wife, 3 adult children, and I) spent a day with Jason Siska touring the waters around St. John and the BVI on his boat Island Roots. We couldn't have had a better time. Jason was the perfect boat captain, tour guide, and snorkeling mentor. He took us to all the right spots for great snorkeling, as well as lunch and a "pain killer" (for us, not Jason . . .) As a native of St. John, he knew the island, its history, and its current events/issues. He was warm, engaging, and funny, but always professional and focused on safety. We were in great hands. I can't recommend Jason highly enough for a wonderful day on the water -- and what wonderful water! We'll be returning to St. John and will definitely contact Jason for another outing.
Used Island Roots for a BVI visit with 2 friends. They had never been there.
The boat cast was very cordial and made the day more fun.
