The resort is beautiful. We stayed down at the morning star it was just wonderful there. The staff was awesome!!! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The pools were great. The night kayaking was awesome and the Vl cat dinner cruise was amazing wish I did that the first night I would have done it every night.

Dylan was an dynamic guide. We took the last outing (9:30/21:30) of the evening. All 7 kayaks returned safely. The screams of "Turtle, Turtle" may haunt me as we watched at least four turtles swim and surface to take some deep breaths. If only the girls who had some unexpected passengers (fish) jump into their kayaks were as calm as the sea turtles.

We went for 5 days in mid August. We arrived at 2pm, and were fully aware check in was not until 4pm. Was impressed that with much activity happening in lobby, a manager immediately saw us and directed us to an open spot at check in. We were booked for the harbor wing. Knew from previous research it was a bit further away from pools, etc, so were prepared. After mentioning to Solidad that this was the first time in several years we'd gotten away together, and since conveniently another guest wanted to move to harbor wing from Ocean Tower due to having a car parked over there, she said if we wouldn't mind waiting for room cleaning, she'd upgrade us! No problem for us, we'd packed the carry on to take advantage of the pools expecting a wait for check-in anyway! They texted me the room was ready before we were ready to head up!! The property was beautiful. The walk to the beach was extremely do-able, but a shuttle was there if feeling lazy. As we'd been to the island several times, and it was a shorter stay, we didnt feel the need to run around and do a bunch of activities - and there was plenty to do right there if you just want to hang out, eat, drink and relax. Also a couple excursions from the hotel if desired. Food was good at restaurants, a bit pricey as would be expected on a resort. The best deal on alcohol is the "walk the plank" bucket...$14 for the first one $10 for refills - great for sharing pool side and strong enough you don't need many! If you go to one of the desks, they will give you a discount card that works at most of the property. We were lucky, she was busy and pretty much handed over the card = saw some others seated for a while listening to 'pitch' for vacation property stuff. Did a spa treatment, book those first! Nice thing is you get access to private pool, sauna, hot tub and plunge pool for the full day by doing so (told me the hubby could pay $25 to join me if wanted). I got an aroma therapy massage. It was nice, but he was not that great. Wouldn't want anyone to lose their job or anything, but I think a pickier person may have complained or questioned his credentials/training. Bars and restaurants for most part do not take cash, either credit card or charge to room. Only blemish was that someone used our room number for their tab at one of sister properties. Front desk was great when we pointed it out and removed it. But if we'd not looked it over closely, might have missed it. Found it ironic as one rainy day, we were seated at the rum bar, and as anyone ordered over the shoulders of those of us seated and directed which room to charge -- the big 'joke' was - "shots for the bar on room 'blah'" -- and I guess that is what happened to us. Couldn't be an 'honest' mistake as the name is printed on the receipt they had to sign. So no shouting of room numbers! A good note on service was the waitress from the pool bar. We are good tippers, and hadn't realized that the pool bar automatically charged 18% gratuity so after tipping and signing, she brought it back to point it out it had already been included (still gave her extra for that!) Room service does the same--not her job--but she didn't point that out to us when I basically tipped 38% (18% already included, I gave 20% not realizing it) the day before. Lesson learned. Be aware that it is a large property. Know which area you are being booked into!! Saw a family from IL throwing a hissy fit as they were not "on the beach" (that's the Morning Star part), but booked into Harbor Wing. Their paperwork clearly said Harbor wing, but they were treating the clerk terribly as though it was his and/or hotel fault vs. their own or their travel agent. He remained calm and respectful, but waiting in line behind them -- so badly wanted to jump in and tell them to take responsibility! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return.

Room Tip: Anything that isn't "island view" faces water...but many sections of the hotel, do your research! We loved being in Beach Tower.

Can't miss going here. Frenchman's Reef has much to do with restaurants, shopping and the Infinity Pool. Facility also is beach, restaurants accessible. Swim club is onsite with villas you can take courtesy van to The Cove on the other side. many activities are available for a cost or you can sit back and enjoy the resort and never leave until it is time to fly home.

Room Tip: All rooms overlook the resort, pool and ocean areas.

Let me start with this.... no two Marriott properties are alike! After staying at one in Grand Cayman, I was expecting a similar stay! Not even close! After waiting over THREE hours to finally check into our room, my first 5 minutes set the tone... we brought our own luggage up (no big deal, but the gentleman NEVER even offered after we got it out of the holding area), while we watched them cater to other guests. We walked into our room, my family checked out the view, I used the bathroom.... and was locked in there! Could NOT get out! Yelled for my family, who thankfully heard me, contacted the front desk, and security and engineering were dispatched! Unbelievable! Requested a room change and was told there were none available! Luckily, I kept the Reservation Manager's number from an earlier debacle with our reservation being modified without my permission! Dijon took care of the problem after offering different options to me, and miraculously found a room for us, one floor up, with a beautiful view! I was grateful! Other things to note... housekeeping staff seemed to be on their own schedule, not conducive to the guests! One day coming in first thing in the am, and another time the room hadn't been touched at 4 pm! Was woken up one night around 1 am by the sound of a vacuum outside our door in the hallway... a very odd time to address vacuum issues in my opinion! The rooms were in need of attention and renovations! The actual location on the island was breathtaking, but not really anything else to brag about!

Room Tip: Love the Ocean View, but Ocean Front is just as pretty!
