“Great Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 April 2012

Have had the pleasure of staying at the Palms four times during the last year or so. The staff is very accomodating and helpful, and the restaurant/bar is excellent. This is a great spot for families --since the beach is small and intimate and excellent for snorkeling. Rooms are good size with great views of the beach. The furnishings in the lobby and bar were updated recently and looks great. A wonderful place to stay and a good value for the money. However, you will need to rent a car or use taxis to get into Christiansted, but it will be well worth it to experience the historical sights and other wonderful treasures that St Croix has to offer.

Our family spent 6 nights at the Palms. Our caution - this is not a 5-star super luxury resort - but the Palms never claimed to be. We thought that the location (on the Island) was fantastic. Close to Christiansted if you're heading in for dinner/tourist stuff. The cove is very windy, which actually keeps the temperature cooler than the hotter (uncomfortable at times) inland and other beach areas. We took our 3 year old, and felt welcome. The pool is warm (good for little kids), and they have lots of toys for beach play. The beach itself is beautiful - amazing snorkeling right in front of the hotel. This proximity is a great perk for families who didn't bring the nanny, and have to take shifts snorkeling/swimming and watching the kids. The staff is friendly, the rooms are updated and clean (a bit sandy - but what else would you expect), the grounds are well maintained. Wednesday night BBQ is fun and not too over the top. Good drinks, good restaurant food, great bar food. Food service in general at the Palms was slow - but think that is an Island thing, not a Palms thing. Great value for your money.

This is a review of just the resort's beach and restaurant, as we stayed at the neighboring Hibiscus Beach Resort.

The beach in front of the Palms is small but terrific for snorkeling. There is a perfectly sandy part that is ideal for learning to snorkel, and the beachfront was well tended.

The Wednesday night BBQ is a very nice buffet of grilled chicken and ribs, Creole fish, rice and beans, numerous sides, and delicious cookies. It was an excellent value, and the moko jumbies were fantastic. Even if you're not staying at The Palms, make sure you go for a Wednesday night dinner. As an added bonus, there was a table set up for local vendors and I purchased two lovely watercolors for less than $50. What a great find!

Our family spent 4 days at this resort and each day was better than the last. Lovely staff, great food, beautiful room and peace and quiet. There is lots of snorkeling or you can just relax at the beach or at the pool. The resort is not fancy or touristy if that is what you are looking for, it is just a quality place to stay. Thanks to Mitch, Julie, Chuck, Mama G, Rico, Gloria, Lizzy, and Kelly and the rest of the staff for a great vacation!

They start with a beautiful scenery...palm trees, beach, water. Then they let Mitch (who was awesome) take you snorkeling to see the under the sea scenery. We saw an octupus, a lobster and coolest of all, a seahorse! Then he gave of a cd of the pictures he took. The food was fantastic, the service excellent, and the staff very welcoming. We enjoyed Lewis who did everything from carry our bags to trim bushes. The man was always working with a smile on his face,
