We couldn't believe the size of this house when we arrived, lovely and open and felt totally safe with the gardener James (lovely man) and his dogs living on site. Excellent for those that want to see plenty of birds, with what seemed like hundreds of chachalacas wandering around the stunning grounds! Lots of lizards too, we saw an iguana! Great pool too! Well equipped, except for the saucepans, if there has to be a complaint it would be that they could probably do with some updating! Dwayne came to visit on the first evening to check we were all happy and settled in! There was good working wifi-important when needing daily surf updates! This is the perfect place for those who love the outdoors and wildlife- I can't say those who love peace due to the chachalacas, but if you like wildlife this will only add to it for you! Very private, with trees, including limes and bananas growing all around! Also, very efficient air conditioning- very important for us!

Room Tip: Beautiful master bedroom but all rooms of a good size with on suite bathroom!

We stayed at this house as a party of friends, and it was near-perfect for us. The friendly staff were happy to oblige with extra matresses for some of additional friends who came along - not even a batted eyelid at a tent erected on one of the verandahs!

Beautiful location on a hilltop, surrounded by a bird sanctuary - the only drawback of this was the chakalukas, incredibly raucous birds that like to 'sing' early in the morning (ear plugs recommended!).

The house is within about 15 mins walking distance of a couple of restaurants, a small supermarket and a beach BUT the walk back up is very, very steep and not much fun in the heat of the day. You really need a car in order to see the island, and to buy a bigger range of groceries (and charcoal for the BBQ), and Mount Irvine beach in the next bay along is better (good snorkellng) than the closer Grafton Beach.

If you are wildlife-phobic this may not be the place for you - bats come to the bird feeder on the verandah, and the open design means that you will share the accommodation with a few geckos, moths etc, but all the (official!) beds have mosquito nets.

This is a lovely wooden colonial house which has a lot of character and charm, but it's not a 'luxury' property in terms of furnishings and decor - but for a house this size, with a pool, you really couldn't expect it to be at the price. My one and only criticism was the lack of a dishwasher (but maybe not such an issue with fewer people!).

We all loved it and wouldn't hesitate to go back.
