Just a one night stop over at Forty Winks and a quick exploration of Port of Spain. Very comfortable room with excellent shower and a great breakfast, great value for money and Just round corner from Queens Park Oval.

Two nights stay over in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Forty Winks Inn was ideal for us. Centrally located so close to sights, museum, botanical gardens, restaurants, etc. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Just before the carnival we saw costumes being made and steel bands practising. Great directions to these from the Forty Winks staff. All the facilities we needed. Felt safe. 24 hour manned reception.

We wanted to stay somewhere that wasn't a big anonymous chain hotel but that wasn't grotty. I tried The Gingerbread House but that was full, this was my second choice, but in fact, we couldn't have been happier with Forty Winks. It's really charming. The people there could not be more cheerful, friendly, helpful. Owner Pam gave us precise instructions about what to do and where to go, and she was always right! She sent us to eat at a great place owned by a friend of hers. Don't go expecting state of the art fittings - some things like towel rails are hanging onto the wall by willpower alone - but the shower worked very well, the bed was comfortable and above all it was totally SPOTLESS. The roof terrace is lovely. Breakfast was fine. The location is great. I'm sure the Gingerbread House is nice too, but I'm so glad we stayed at Forty Winks! I would completely recommend it for the leisure traveller.

Room Tip: We were in a downstairs room and it was quiet for the two nights we were there.

We loved having your very happy group. We appreciate when clients get that we are not trying to replicate a generic brand but have a brand of our own that focuses on giving the client the experience they came for, whatever that may be.
I checked, and all our towel racks etc are firmly attached to the wall. There is a large rack in your room outfitted with ball joints that give it a a spring action for absorbing yanking for instance, and also weight, as it can also take items heavier than towels. The attachment to the wall is however flush and intact. No will power required!!All our chrome and stainless steel Delta fixtures and fittings were installed when a full upgrade was completed 1 year ago.
It was great having you all and we hope to see you another time.

Stayed for one night on my way from Guyana to Tobago. This is exactly the kind of place I look to stay at while traveling: a small privately run guest house with lots of charm and friendliness. Pam, the manager, helped with the booking as well as helping to arrange taxis. She is also very helpful with restaurant and activity recommendations.

This colourful little guesthouse is the perfect option to explore Port of Spain. Once you got rid of your luggage, everything is pretty much walking distance, there's a supermarket down the road, a couple of good restaurants near by and the park is just up the road.
The port is about a 25 min walk away.

If you have trouble falling asleep/are noise sensitiv, ask for a room upstairs when booking as you hear everything/everyone downstairs.
The rooms are comfy, clean with AC, TV and private bathrooms.
All the ladies that work here are super friendly and helpful.

We appreciate your taking the time to review.
Indeed, most people sleep at night when it is very quiet, and are up and about during the day. Sorry your daytime sleep was interrupted. We were very busy that day with check-ins and check-outs and the resulting movement/conversations and urgent room prep would have been a bit more hectic than usual.
Glad you liked everything else though !
