My husband and I spent a week at the Sugar Reef hotel and it was absolute paradise. We had one of the three rooms on the beach, and we fell asleep each night to the sound of the waves. It was magical. Our room was bright & airy with a comfortable 4-poster bed, draped with a pristine mosquito net (although we never saw any skeeters in the room). We travelled all around Bequia, having lunch or dinner out at a variety of places, and we concluded that Sugar Reef has the best restaurant on the island. We can also confirm that Dawson makes by far the best rum punch on Bequia. One of the best things about our stay was the friendly team at Sugar Reef - Tatiana, Cornelius, Dawson, and of course Shawn, who brought us a delicious breakfast every morning. And to top it all off, Crescent Beach is beautiful and the water is lovely for swimming or just floating around. Bequia is pretty much the perfect Caribbean island, and we definitely recommend Sugar Reef as the place to stay.

Room tip: We liked having a room right on Crescent Beach - listening to the sound of the surf and just a few yards from the golden sand.

We have been there and done it for a 5th time and still we plan to go back for more.

Where shall we start? The location, the property, the beach? No it has to be the staff. Friendly, welcoming, helpful - I’m running out of adjectives. All take great care to ensure that you have a relaxing time there.

We always stay in a beach front room as to walk straight out onto the beach is simply wonderful. The Beach House and its three beach rooms are stylish yet simple. The food served is the best on the island. We have investigated French House and that too is elegant and imaginative but we prefer the closeness of the sea and falling asleep to the sound of the surf.

Sugar Reef is simply the best❤️❤️❤️

To Sugar Reef, to the girls upstairs, the boys downstairs and Sunshine in between; to the administration and to Emmett: As I stand now, watching the frozen ground and pine trees covered with snow in Ste-Adèle, I think of - The times I would sit on the ramp looking at that magnificent View of the islands, the reef, the beach, the Palm trees and the pristine forest surrounding the beautiful Old Colonial style Beach House, - The Lovely and stylish French house who is the highlight of Sugar Reef, with that immense Balcony and dipping pool where you can always privacy and our baldaquin bed, - The delightful Walk Down the alley to the Beach House (and always someone to drive you back up), - The Healthy Breakfast always so nicely prepared and served on the big balcony table surrounded by nature, - The Sugar birds trying to steal homemade honey or jam, - The Best Restaurant on the island, - The most Romantic Dinner tables, - The best Restaurant Table and Bar staff, - The Admin always so helpful and friendly, - The Quietness ( no road noise, no drive byes at 3 H00 AM, no dogs barking), - The almost private beach, - The best Rum punches and - last but not least, That SUV (Suffering Utility Vehicle) that brought us back upstairs ! I call it Style. Not Luxury. Style. As in Bequia in Style. Thank you.........

My partner Melissa and I were fortunate enough to stay at Sugar Reef for 13 nights. It would have been 14 nights, but there was no room on the flight from Bequia to Barbardos on the 14th day.

Where to begin? Sugar Reef is indeed exceptional, beautiful, friendly, relaxed, sensuous.. all that and more. First and foremost has to be the quality of the staff. I have never been more welcomed anywhere in the world -- you feel like family from the first moment through the last. You couldn't tear us away from the restaurant and the bar. Cornelius, Awesome Dawson, Jefferson, High Beam -- you're an amazing group. Judit, Tatiana, Shaquira, never-resting Sunshine.... The people who served breakfast, at both the French House and the Beach House. We spent ten nights at the French House and three at the Beach House and still can't decide which we preferred. The food was amazing; both locations are out of this world. Our biggest decision now is when to return next year.

We actually stayed here in January 2017 for 9 nights and returned to Bequia again this January but stayed elsewhere. Wish we hadn't!! Sugar Reef is almost completely perfect. Crescent Bay beach is a beautiful curve of pristine sand backed by palm trees, and frequently we were the only people on it. the hotel is very small, and split in two; up the hill, and down on the beach. We stayed in one of the beach rooms for 8 nights and upstairs at the French House for one night. We preferred the beach. The sound of the waves, the ability to step straight out of your room onto the sand in the morning and the lack of mozzies made this an easy decision for us. The food at lunchtime and evenings is really excellent. The rooms are comfortable if a tiny bit scruffy but in a somewhat shabby chic way which makes them charming and homely too. (I believe they have been updated since our stay). Best rum punch on the island without doubt and a good wine selection. If I have to find a few gripes they are small; water pressure in one of the beach rooms was very poor, the hotel could probably sell more drinks at the bar if it provided a few bar snacks, either free or to purchase, and the lunch menu remained the same throughout our stay; as the menu is not huge this meant we had effectively run out of choices after a few meals. Finally, the breakfast, although good was exactly the same each day. However, these are minor issues and don't let them put you off booking - you will NOT regret it.

Room tip: Any of the beach rooms
