We were able to book a tour to the caves during our stay. It's a 45 minute drive from SMB, but highly recommended if you enjoy natural wonders!

The Cayman Safari tour vehicles aren't traditional - they're more like Jeeps which makes the excursion even more exciting. Upon our arrival at the caves, I was amazed to see a gift shop that looked like a cabana, compete with picnic tables and grass umbrellas. There were several items which were original (as I found many of the "touristy" shops had the same items).

The actual tour takes you through three caves, all a short walk from the parking area. Learning about the rock formations and botany from our local tour guide was priceless. The caves themselves are incredible; almost indescribably beautiful. For lovers of nature this is an absolute MUST!

Perhaps the best part and my recommendation to you: Ask for Owen. Native to the island, he informed us about Grand Cayman's history, politics, nature, food..etc. Not only was he educating our group, he was quite entertaining as well. I've never met anyone so happy and I will forever remember him gleefully singing "come along!" on our walks through the caves.

Great tour, great tour guide, AMAZING experience!

My husband and I took a personalized Grand Cayman Island Tour with Cayman Safari Adventures during our visit in June. After looking at the tour options on the website, we actually wanted to do 3 different tours that they offered. When I called to schedule, they actually recommended a custom private tour which would combine everything and it was an amazing tour! Conroy our guide took us all over the island to see Hell, the turtle farm, the blow holes, Pedro St. James, and the crystal caves just for starters. He went above and beyond and also took us to places not originally planned including the conch shell house, starfish point, and rum point. He was very knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and offered to take multiple pictures for us. Overall, amazing tour!!!

When we were visiting the Crystal Caves, we noticed that the tour guide, Brian Wilson, from Cayman Safari adventures, was allowing his group of tourists to knock on the precious rock crystals. We were mortified! They are not allowed to be touched! Our tour guide that works for the Crystal Caves says that they have also seen Cayman Safari allowing the tourists to swim in the crystal waters. Which is also a huge no-no! They are going to destroy what Mother Nature took thousands of years to create!! This has to be stopped!! It is so disrespectful.
