For appreciators of history, this is an attraction that provides some insight and background to the Cayman Islands. The museum and grounds are well kept and the signs are very informative. At the end of the tour, guests have the opportunity to partake in a liquor tasting from a local distillery. I recommend for anyone interested in learning a little more of the site and the island.

We took an excursion here from the cruise line. I enjoyed the movie/presentation. Our guide was very nice and informative. I loved her sense of humor.

On the south coast of Grand Cayman Island lies the historic site Pedro St. James.
Although it has been reconstructed, it is the oldest existing building in the Cayman Islands. Our tour had a guide who told the historic significance as the place where democracy was born in the Cayman Islands. We visited the three floors of the house, viewed an historic movie in a special theater, followed by an afternoon tea in the courtyard.

Worth a visit with an interesting tour of the grounds that give the background and the history of Grand Cayman. Spend some time and find what Cayman was before commercialism.
