We have visited the BVIs three times in the past five years and always go to Smugglers at least two times! The water is perfect, the snorkling off shore is excellent and Nigel is always serving great drinks!

It's a must do while in Tortola!

Worth the drive through the jungle to arrive at this beach paradise. No amenities except for Nigel if he is around. He'll rent you chairs, etc. or make you a drink. A clean portapotty available. Lots of parking and space. Bring your own stuff is the best advise. A small reef is nearby for great snorkeling. Good swimming beach.

We went just for Nigel's Beach Bar and he was not there. The beach was very busy, very rocky and not as beautiful as the other beaches. Snorkeling was also better at Brewers. Lots of sand fleas so bring spray. Just meh for us compared to all the other beaches on the north side that we visited. The beach adjacent to Smugglers, Belmont Bay was pristine and completely empty. Stunning water and nicer sand. No snorkeling however. Don't believe the hype. Only one little port-a-potty too and it was awful.

We couldn't have anticipated the trip to this beach--up steep hills on a road that was sometimes paved and mostly rock and gravel, and barely wide enough for just one car. The trip was definitely worth it though. We arrived to find the beach fairly empty for such a great day. Nigel maintains a small bar in a grove of trees at the end of the beach. We rented a couple beach chairs ($6 each) and bought a handful of Coronas and settled in for the day. The water was warm and if the your could get through a small layer of rocks as you enter the beach, the rest was very sandy. There is only a porta-potty but it was remarkably well taken care of. A few tenders from larger boats would arrive and anchor, their occupants would hop out and enjoy the beach and then depart. Overall, a fantastic day!

This is a really beautiful beach that is off the beaten path. There were just a few people there and the water was excellent for swimming and easy snorkeling. A good place to kick back and relax.
