Great spot for a sunset. Wonderful beans and rice, ribs, shrimp skewers, yummy Jonny cakes. Don't waste your time or money anywhere else in Grand Case.

We loved this lolo so much that we came twice in two days. Simple and typical criolla food with a beautiful view of Grand Case beach for a very reasonable price. The curry rice was amazing. The shrimp kebab and the grilled tuna and fish was delicious. You have to prove their food!

Gotta love this authentic little gem on the beach in Grand Case. Food is great - we had the ribs this time - and the beer is cold. Nice views of the length of the beach and kids playing on the pier.

The best ribs I've ever had. They came in large portions, perfectly seasoned and tender. The rice and beans is no ordinary side dish. It reminds me of delicious Haitian cooking. The fried plantains were so sweet you just want more. All at the best price for the island.
The service was also promptly and attentive. Would definitely return for another meal at this beach side double delight (with Talk Of The Town dishing similar features under same roof).

We were walking Grand Case shopping with the full intention of going somewhere else for lunch. When we passed this place, however, the combination of great smells and very charismatic staff ("You come sit here!") persuaded us to stop.

We were SO GLAD we did.

We ate at dozens of restaurants during our many days on the island, and this is one of two that really stands out. (The other being Bluefin, see my other reviews for details). It was the least expensive restaurant we visited by far and easily one of the tastiest.

The meats are served a la carte so you order side dishes separately. The full rack of ribs were so inexpensive and smelled so good I couldn't resist. They were the least expensive ribs I've ever ordered and by far the best tasting. The flavor was so good. Many ribs have to balance drying out with being served soaked and greasy. Never before have I had the perfect "in between" area with a nice, crisp outside with a perfect char and a juicy inside. You could see our whole table take a second pass at all their ribs just to make sure the bones had been completely exhausted of their meat before we finished. Not a classy site, but a necessary one. You won't want to waste any of this flavor.

The beans and rice were also a highlight. I'm a big fan of a good beans and rice combo and there's didn't disappoint. The flavor was so interestingly unique we asked the server. Turn out the rice is cooked in coconut milk and there's a healthy amount of nutmeg. The two sweets perfectly balanced the spice of the dish. We liked the beans and rice so much we took some to go.

Don't forget to order a Johnny Cake with your meal. They're less than a dollar each and a great addition. If you've never had one before they're a bread that sort of tastes like bread batter fried like a donut but never sweetened. Very nice!

Seriously, give this local spot a try. You won't lose your wallet and you'll leave full and satisfied. This area where Lolo's is located also hosts about 3 other similar establishments so make sure you're sitting in Lolo's. Locals told us it was the best, and staff at all the nearby restaurants will try to persuade you to sit in their areas.

Our only regret of the entire trip was not going back a second time for more ribs.
