Arrived August 3rd as the scuba diving boat was leaving the 4th at 6 PM. Flights in from Charlotte via Miami were to close for comfort to proverbially "miss the boat". The hotel had damage from the hurricane last fall and one section of the hotel was closed due to no roof still. The main hotel was OK and we were placed in a 2nd floor, ocean front room that was both gorgeous and large. The staff was so helpful and accomodating to us I can't tell you how great these people were. Customer service at Passanggahan was fantastic, polite and over the top. This is no BS. Every person we met on St. Maartens from taxi driver, to bag handler, to wait staff was so glad we were there to visit and spend a few dollars welcomed us and thanked us.

Room tip: Ocean front rooms are the best of course. Due to hurricane damage, only 1-2 cruise ships a week stop here versus daily before the hurricane.

Not the same but still friendly with welcoming familiar faces with Colbert , Ollie and Maureen working hard !!
The new block was fine with no damage and we stayed in a room there which was great
The old block is not habitable and is going to be torn down
The hotel is open for business as usual so would recommend it to anyone
We stayed from March 24th to April 4th and believe me it’s getting back to normal
We hope to return later in the year

Hi Guys,
It was so nice having you back again! Thank you for all your support to the hotel, and also contributing to the local economy. It will take us some time to get back on the map, but with everyone doing their part- will be ready for the next winter season.

Again we want to say Thank You guys.

On a recent cruise stop in Sint Maarten, I revisited the Pasanggrahan only to find that the building had been destroyed by the hurricane that devastated many Caribbean islands. Only the concrete side structures were intact, except for roofs and windows, but the entire property is uninhabitable. I was told that the owners intend to rebuild. It was a very sad visit to one of my favorite places.

We stayed here in early March 2018. The room we stayed in was huge and excellent. Beachfront and beautiful sunsets. The owners were exceptional. Very warm and welcoming. The facility, as with nearly all hotels and restaurants on the island were hit hard by the hurricane but they are working hard to bring it back to its glory. Great little bar and restaurant onsite with a great bartender. One of the few beachfront places with any parking and it was free. Will stay here again when on the island.

Room tip: Go with a beachfront room. Great sunsets from the balcony!
