This was our third trip to St Lucia, and to the Rodney Bay area, which we like because of proximity to the beach, restaurants, shops and activities. Having seen the BGBR in construction, we decided we'd like to stay there in the future, but last year it was full up, so we booked early this year, and found it met our expectations. Good points: location; friendly and attentive attitude of the staff; spacious and confortable room; quality of house-keeping. Less good point: very average quality breakfast buffet for the price, unattractively presented, and often running out of items such as fruit juice, cereal, scambled egg, glasses, plates etc. As no staff seemed to be monitoring, you had to ask and wait around a bit for replacements to arrive. Several things didn't work (e.g. laundry machines, shower, basin plug), but staff generally put things right when something was drawn to their attention. There was karioke or noisy music some evenings, which we personally did not enjoy, but to be fair, many guests did, and the noise stopped by 10pm or earlier after which the resort was very peaceful. There seems to be a drive by the hotel owners to sell timeshare holidays. Although pleasantly done, it is still "hard sell". Having shown some interest, we felt we were being pushed to enter into a contract without either being able to inspect the room being offered, or the terms of the lease. Overall, however, these are minor issues, and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a reasonably lively, active holiday in the heart of Rodney Bay with all its facilities, shops and restaurants, rather than "getting away from it all".

Room Tip: 2nd floor pool view rooms also have a bit of a sea view. However, there are no elevators, so you have to climb 2 flights of stairs.

Having just arrived back in freezing cold Uk must say what a great place this is. Fab pool staff great good food. Only thing I could fault was they could have had a few more sun beds.I was a bit disappointed with the beach and the fact the sea was very rough, having spent the week in Antigua before arriving here but that was not the hotels fault. Outside the resort seemed very expensive to eat in the evenings so we eat in the hotel half the time. Would definately stay there again if we went to St Lucia

Getting back to freezing temperatures is never easy. The sea is not always this way, patches of bad weather can affect it but this is not consistent thankfully. And we would be happy to have you as our guest again should you visit the island in the future.

Our trip to BGBR was the best experience for us. We were there for two weeks and also got married while we were there. I have to say that everything went even better than I imagined. I believe it is the staff and management that make it such a wonderful vacation resort and a great place to get married.
I can tell you that the staff go beyond making everything great. The great bartenders like Elran and Aisha took very good care of us and the front desk staff like Olive made us happy every day with her smiling face. Cleo and Sherian were also very helpful with all our needs and our families that were there for the wedding. The security staff like Frances, Margaret and Angela made sure we had what ever we needed when it came to hanging out on the beach.
Our housekeeper Kem was excellent at taking care of our wonderful suite we had with all the family we had coming and going. She even made sure all the small things were looked after.
Lavelle took great care of all the wedding preparations and it was a beautiful wedding and reception. The food was fabulous too.
I know we havent named everybody that was sooo enjoyable for us to be around during our 2 week stay but we just appreciated everything they went above and beyond to make it the best vacation ever.

Room Tip: Suites are the best if you like having a kitchen saving us money on food

We stayed at this hotel for only a couple of nights before sailing to Grenada. The location is superb until the cruise ships are in. Then the beach in front of the hotel is packed, rows and rows of tourists looking very red in the face and not coping terribly well with the rum punches !!

When we arrived in our hire car, and pulled up in front of the hotel to drop of the bags, a security lady told us we couldn't park in front of the hotel. We explained we were just dropping our cases off and have since found this a very funny experience if not slightly irritating when you first arrive. Room very nice small verandah with chairs very pleasant stay

A short and pleasant stay is always good. The parking issue might have been a miscommunication on the part of our security officers, but generally you are allowed to drop off bags then park in the lot. We certainly hope that you’ll stay with us again next time you’re in St. Lucia.
