We stayed four nights at the VBC in a two bedroom oceanfront unit. The location on Choc Bay is nice and secluded with the only hotel within walking distance being the Sandals whose guests we rarely saw. The unit had a great view and the small size of the hotel meant that there were rarely other people either on the beach or by the pool. The staff was friendly although not exceptionally outgoing. Rechashier, whom I had corresponded with before arrival, was very pleasant. Initially, I was a little taken aback at the request to meet with the owner on our first morning as it sounded closer to a demand and reminded me of timeshare pressure at other resorts. However, I reminded myself of the other reviews that I had read about the owner, Colin, and how helpful he was. With that in mind, I met with Colin and thoroughly enjoyed hearing his family history on the island, the history of the hotel, and learning about different restaurants and activities.
The one negative that I would point out is that, at least for out suite, their is a need for updating. The hotel in general is well maintained but it seems to need a little TLC.
Overall, a nice place to stay.More
