We stayed at the Windjammer from April 21st-26th. First off, after talking to other previous visitors, we decided to fly into the Castries (smaller airport) which was a GREAT decision. The airport is tiny, but it took all of 10 minutes to go through customs, get our luggage, and get into a cab. Within 25 minutes we pulled up to Windjammer.
Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but the staff was very nice and gave us a complimentary glass of champeigne while we waited... and it was worth the wait. We were upgraded (without asking) from an Ocean View room to a 1 Bedroom Villa. Let me just say, my mouth I think literally dropped when we walked in. We were in #120 (to my knowledge, the higher up the villa, the better, so if you can, request a high up villa before arriving) We had a full kitchen, a living room, a beautiful bedroom, and a patio. It was beautiful!
We did the all-inclusive plan. It was $100 per person, per day. I don't necessarily know if we spent $200 each day we were there, however it was VERY nice to just sign a bill anytime we ordered anything, and not have to worry how much it was... food, drinks, water bottles, etc. Personally we thought the food was pretty good. I really liked how unlike other all-inclusives, it wasn't just a buffet. We actaully never once ate at a buffett. The breakfest was served at Dragonfly each day, and had a great menu to order off of. Lunch on the beach at Jammer's was great. (Great chicken ceaser salad), and we also liked Dragonfly for dinner (best dirty martini I ever had) We only stayed for 5 night, so the all-inclusive was great for us, however if we stayed longer, we may have tried some resturants off the resort for a few nights as well to split it up.
They had a live band playing everynight at Jammer's which was nice, and on Tuesday nights they have a "Manager's cocktail party" which was also nice. Later that night they had dancers and limbo, which was pretty lively.
We found everyone there extremely friendly. Always accomadating, and never once seemed like they didn't want to work there. The resort was very clean, as well as the villas. We sat at the beach each day, which was clean as well. It wasn't a huge beach, but we never felt thast we had to rush down early to get a chair, there were always more then enough.
We did need to take a shuttle service to get down to the "pool/beach" area, but when I tell you the shuttle was outside the villa 3 minutes after we called, I am not exaggerating! We did not find it bothersome at all!
The weather was beautiful every day we were there. Really hot, where you had to dip in the water every now and then, otherwise you would fry! (The forecast said rain before we went, and it never rained once)
As for who the resort is good for: We are a couple, in their mid-20's. I did think there would be more people in our age group. It did seem like there were a bunch of honeymooners (We saw about 4 weddings go on while we stayed there), however there were ALOT of families there with kids. It didn't bother us at all, but I could see it being a little to "kiddy" for a honeymoon.
Also, a side note of some other reviews which talked about being hasseled about timeshare. We were never onced called or approached about time share... So that NEVER caused any issue for us at all.
Overall we had an amazing 5 days. The people were great and attentive, the resort clean, the food was good and the weather was impecable!
Great Vacation!
