I can't say enough about this place. It's a restaurant with room and both are above average. The trek up to the restaurant is a bit much if you coming from Guayama, do yourself a favor and take the main highway from San Juan. Either way, the destination is well worth the trip. Sara our hostess was phenomenal, she was efficient and a joy to talk to, even when the restaurant was swamped.

The rooms were small but very clean with absolutely stunning views. We got there just as the sun was setting and it was breath-taking.

The restaurant is on par with any of the finer places in San Juan. Out meals were incredibly tasty and very well proportioned. There was also a modest breakfast which was unexpected and much appreciated.

Frankly it was sad to leave. Thanks Sara!

While traveling in PR, my family and I needed a layover somewhere in the middle of the island. It's difficult to find many choices in this area that have websites or even offere reviews online. I contacted them directly 3 nights before arriving and had no problem booking their double queen room.
This time of year is slow in PR and allowed us to be one of only a few guests at the hotel. There are only 10 rooms with one of the most beautiful restaurants I have ever seen on site. I had read bad reviews before arriving, making me a little nervous. It was located about 15 minutes outside Cayey, up a hill, into the forest. I was about to give up when it appeared just around the curve.
The landscaping was immaculate. Service was given by the owners and their daughter making it very personlized. You can tell they all care about and love their business. I had the Puerto Rican Porkchop after being warned of its enormous size. I was not dissapointed. It was the largest cut of pork, besides a full rack of ribs, I had ever seen.
My family and I were hoping to hear the Coqui frogs on our trip. Here in the mountains the frogs were so deafening, it was amazing. Our room's view down to the Caribbean and the town of Salinas was like something off a postcard.
Travelers take note, I saw no truth to the bad reviews here. It's a perfect place to stay if you are traveling from one side of the island to the other. I'd like to have stayed longer and relaxed in the serene environment the hotel oozes!

What a great place for a few days of peace and quiet. If your looking for no frills R&R this is the place for you. The rooms are very clean and comfortable and the owner's daughter, Sarah, will go out of her way to make you as comfortable as possible. The restaurant is excellent, but be aware that it is only open Thursday through Sunday evenings. The breakfast is basic - bread, butter/jam, coffee and orange juice. The rooms do not have TV, A/C or phones, but the evenings are cool enough (even in late June when we were there) and there is a ceiling fan. Only suggestion is that the room lighting could be better for nighttime reading or card games, as there is nothing else to do. We would definitely return.

Tried to stay here... Arrived at 8:30 pm and gates were locked, no one to be seen. My boyfriend jumped the fence, went up to the hotel and still nothing. I called the listed phone number several times and just got a machine. Called Sarah's cell phone number (whom I got a confirmation # from when I made the reservation) several times, and got her voicemail. Pretty remote area of PR, not much around, but did manage to find a motel about 1/2 hr away that charged $25 for 6 hours, room was moldy, smelled like that deodorant that they put in men's urinals, and the walls were covered entirely with mirrors. An added bonus was the amateur porn that played on the TV. Catch my drift? Avoid Jajome unless you want to wind up here.

We recently spent two nights at the Jajome Terrace. Unfortunately, we were there Sunday and Monday nights, the two nights their restaurant is closed. The restaurant is really the focus of their operation and we were the only guests there at the time (they have 10 rooms), so we were kind of ignored. The place is beautiful, built on the beautifully landscaped side of a steep hill, with decks, terraces, a fountain, and a spectacular view all the way to the ocean.

The roads are narrow and winding, so driving at night was not an appealing option for us. The first night the owner offered to heat up our lunch leftovers that we brought back with us. The second night she went out and although we found her daughter, she did not have a key to the kitchen, so we had cold food. There are no phones in the room and our cell phones had no reception there, so we had no way to get in touch with anyone (there is no reception area and since we were the only ones staying there, there was no one who was available at all times).

All in all, though, we really enjoyed our stay. We spent the day driving the Ruta Panoramica through the mountainous central part of the island. It was beautiful and interesting and we drove through some small towns with very nice (but congested) plazas. We would recommend this place, with the proviso that you do not stay Sunday or Monday nights.

My major complaint was that there were no reading lights in the room and that they could not provide one when we asked. It is very quiet and peaceful there (no TV or radio), so it would have been nice to be able to read at night without straining our eyes.
