Arrived at the hotel and instantly had problems. Front desk moved me to another room, but it was basically a downgrade. I gave up modern features just to have a room that was not directly behind the front desk. New room had no internet (different signal from rest of hotel), room safe did not work, air conditioning kept tripping the breaker and had to be reset, bed was not sturdy and moved all night and room had no curtains so daylight was always coming into the room (maybe due to the lack of lights in the room). Food was pretty good but servers were VERY SLOW, bartenders were great. Overall, a mediocre experience that isn't worth extra money, but worth a look if you don't have anything better. Chance of returning, 40%

Room Tip: Make sure yo ask about a room above ground

My husband and I decided on the Yard Beach house for our honeymoon. We spent 7 days there in the beginning of feb 2018. We had some issues with our first room and one of our meals, which was a turn off initially, HOWEVER, the manager of the hotel Mr Gordon (?) had us move to another room for the last 5 nights of our stay and offered to comp a meal of my choice. Overall I think that this could be a great spot! There are some minor aesthetic things that could use an update, but the it's on its way. The beach is beautiful and the staff are kind.

The room was big and spacious but not very tidy and the furniture is a bit outdated. There were no washrags or bathmat and enough towel were not provided. We had car trouble so we were delayed but it was good that we weren't half an hour later, else we would not get in. Reception is closed by 10 pm and opens at 9 am. The room and parts of the hotel still maintained the original branding.

I loved the grounds, very lush and green. I loved the artwork and I believe that the owner can do so much more with this space. Not sure if he just wants a chill spot or if this is a business. The staff were good, very accommodating. The food, however, was bad.

Room Tip: There are no ocean view rooms

We used IMS Barter to secure the reservation. Kimberly at the front desk was very professional and accommodating. She contacted us prior to arriving to set up transportation from Montego Bay airport. She assisted with golfing, parasailing and restaurant recommendations. We received first class service from a boutique size hotel on 7 Mile Beach.
Our 1 bedroom suite had a kitchenette which we filled with light groceries from a Negril supermarket. The housekeeping staff were unobtrusive and kept our room, dishes and bathroom neat and clean every day.
This was our first visit to Negril and would certainly recommend SeaSplash for a traveler who does not want an all inclusive experience. We would definitely stay again and hope to do so! Malcolm, who drove us multiple times, was also a very professional and reliable associate of SeaSplash.

I've been coming to Negril since the mid 1980s, and I've tried various hotels. We just returned for another visit, staying at Sea Splash again, for some specific reasons.

The pros:

Location is great, at what is arguably the best stretch of the gorgeous beach, far enough from town to be clean and quiet, but still a short cab ride away from the cliffs or town, or a fair-length walk, if you have the energy.

Lushly landscaped, with some old-growth trees and lots of flowering plants, which means entertaining shows by hummingbirds, green parrots, and many other birds. And their sweet songs, as well as night time songs by tiny tree frogs.

It is a short walk to Best In The West, a reliably good jerk stand, and right next door to a patty place on the beach, although vendors walking up the beach can bring you patties, fruit, etc. right to your beach chair!

Also close to the reefs for decent snorkeling, with glass-bottom boats right there to transport you.

It is a small place, which we prefer.

The rooms work really well for us. We always stay on the 2nd floor, in a 1-bedroom (no door, but a screen that can be pulled out, with a loft and bed above, suitable for anyone who can manage to climb a stair/ladder).

Those rooms are large, with a walk-in closet large enough for luggage, too, the beds are large and extremely comfortable, the full kitchen is handy, and stocked with dishes, etc., there is a dining table with chairs, the large terrace is pleasant, with table and chairs to sit at while enjoying all the vegetation and birds around.

The staff is very pleasant and make every effort to be helpful (Mr. Gardin was especially helpful).

We like the style of the architecture, with the orange-tile roofs.

The cons:

Not immaculately painted, plastered, etc. (if that bothers you. It didn't bother us. And at the price-point, it is a trade-off we're willing to make).

Showers/bathtub are functional, but no one would single them out as luxurious (again, not an issue for us).

No stopper in the bathroom sink, if this bothers you, you might want to check with the hotel prior to booking, or bring your own.

Beach towels are clean but showing signs of age. And more importantly, getting them was an annoyance, as 3 days in a row they were not put out, and we had to ask and then wait to receive them. Sea Splash, you can do better - have your staff remember to put out beach towels every morning for your guests!

Wifi went out a few times, but a call to the front desk restored it immediately. What couldn't be fixed were occasional slowdowns which made loading even a simple webpage agonizingly slow. But other times it was pretty good. Hopefully the equipment will be updated to provide more consistency during heavy use.

So overall, very good, with a few things that could be improved. But compared to the other Negril hotels on the beach, this is the one we'll return to next time!
