Not all bad though. The good stuff is low price [if you are happy with the standards]; its location is very close to the centre of Ocho. Main Street is about 150 yds + the market about 200yds. The room sizes are large [standard by US standards]. It has a large private car park [sadly rather muddy at the hotel end]. It is long water front with a moderate sized mainly sandy beach [with shade] down about 20 ft from ground floor level. There is a modest but adequate 'leisure' pool with adjacent bar. Cleaning is OK.
The not so good stuff. It is almost certainly privately owned by an absentee proprietor that leaves running it to minimal staff and has drawn as much money from the place as possible over the years. Investment in the hotel has been minimal. Staff are laid-back and Jamaican rather than professional. Decor and furnishings dated and tatty. Wi-fi is only available in the [largish] reception area. Only breakfast is served [at extra cost] and is reasonable and Jamaican style.
This hotel will suit low cost travellers that are happy to source their own food – not hard being so centrally located in Ocho. I would revisit, but would rather try out some other more attractive looking options in the near vicinity.More
