We heard about this restaurant from a number of visitors and staff at the hotel we were at, so we decided to give it a go.
Previous reviews on tripadvisor mentioned making a reservation if we wanted a seat on the upper deck, so that's what we did. It was strange though that to make a reservation you just left a voicemail and assume your reservations were confirmed and that you would be seated where you requested.
The pontoon/raft over was quirky and a fun experience which lasted about 30 seconds. There was no table set / laid out, so after some confused looks we were asked to wait at the bar. We got there a little after sunset so the views were pretty. The houseboat is on a lagoon, so we saw a lot of tarpin and a jellyfish swimming around the boat.
There is no cocktail/drink menu, but they have a wide selection of alcohol.
The wait staff were friendly. We were a party of five and we each ordered an appetizer and a main. The sea food is fresh(as expected) and the main course portions decent, the appetizers were not worth their price. The prices were steep, but we chalked it out to being an off the resort excursion.
Lots of things can be improved upon for example, if you are going to charge fancy restaurant prices (US/CAD standard), don't have flimsy plastic tables and chairs. A wine/ cocktail list with prices might make patrons more aware of what's available. Set up tables and chairs before your guests get there.
