“Would be a top B&B anywhere”
Reviewed 7 January 2012

Although I travel a great deal this is the first time that a review was in order. Just stayed at the Villa Bambou in Haiti and had a perfect stay. The facilities, details and appointments are first class. The food was outstanding, the views are amazing and the service is excellent. Monica and Andy , the innkeepers and owners, have thought of all the little touches that make you feel welcome.

Will be back and highly recommend.

This was my first trip to Haiti and as a novice didn't know what to expect. The Inn at Villa Bambou exceeded anything I could have imagined. Clean, warm, wonderful food, amazing staff and generously warm owners. Walking the property, sitting by the pool, listening to the amazing music wafting up the hill where this lovely B&B sits, dining with amazing guests...and the most restful sleep imaginable. Everything was simply splendid!

Room Tip: Every room is a great room. Privacy, individual balcony, lovely bathroom, A/C (you won't need i...

It takes something special for me to write a review for anything, and this place was definitely something special. I have stayed at many B&B's in my lifetime and this place ranks up there with the best of them anywhere in the world....service, cleanliness, food, hospitality and amenities all 5 star (yes, all in PAP, Haiti). The rooms are all wonderfully unique, comfortable, clean and include satellite TV and wireless internet. The meals prepared each day and night are something you would expect out of a top notch restaurant with a varying menu every day that will want you coming back for the food alone. During my stay I was supposed to dine out a few nights but found myself finding excuses to stay in just so I could eat at the Inn. The setting is a picturesque view of downtown PAP overlooking the bay and looks like something out of a painting...you really can't beat it. Some might question the value/cost of this place (as I first did and definitely had my reservations) but when you take into consideration the accommodations, amenities, and meals it is definitely comparable to any hotel stay in Haiti and worth the try. One final note....as I was leaving I noticed little pictures on the wall taken with the owners of the Inn Monica and Andrew Ansaldi, after looking a little closer I noticed faces such as model Petra Nemcova and former President Bill Clinton all who have stayed at the Inn previously. Not too shabby.

Where to begin...... the food, the drinks, the staff, the house, the pool, the view, the owners? Everything is perfect at Villa Bambou in Pacot, Port-Au-Prince, Haiti. Perched on a hill overlooking the city of Port au Prince and the Caribbean Ocean, you will not want to miss the sunset from one of the many balconies. Haiti is hot in the summer time so a cool dip in the beautiful pool feels great during the day, while a soak on the hot tub is perfect after dinner. The Ansaldis will guarantee that you have a great time- ask Monica for Creole, French, or Portuguese lessons, or for Andy to show you one of his great recipes in the kitchen. Take a spin around the exercise room and unwind after with a first class massage. Perfect for honeymooners, business travelers, or couples wanting to see the Caribbean a little differently than most.
