“Great Resort”
Reviewed 8 July 2012

This was an excellent all-inclusive resort! All the amenities were amazing! The rooms were nice, and the staff was very friendly! We had to switch resorts because the other one was really not up to our standards, and switching was not a problem. As soon as you walk in, people come greet you at the entrance and take your bags up into your room. At the start of the check-in, the lady at the front desk said "welcome home", and you immediately felt the sense of perfection at the resort. You are treated great there, and no is never an answer from the staff! The variety of food selections were great, a gourmet meal every night! There is room service 24/7, whether its breakfast, lunch, dinner, or a midnight snack. There is a water sport cabana on the beach where you can get snorkels, life-jackets, etc.. If you want to snorkel you have to pay a $20 deposit per snorkel, but of corse you get it back. I recommend that you go to the other side of the island on the caribbean side to go snorkeling, to see more fish and its way more clear! Unfortunately, the banana boat cost money, but it is a great experience and you should definitely do it! If you want to go dune buggying, there is a place, Adventure Boggey, right down the road, only about 15 minutes away! You get to go to a beautiful beach, and a very nice, clear-water cave. Also, if you want to go zip-lining, Canopy adventure is the way to go!! Its about an hour drive, and you get to see how the local people live! The pool is very nice, and there is a pretty water-fall separating 2 pools! If you want some alone time with your significant other, you can definitely send your child to the explorers club, when there is never a dull moment! Lastly, the sports area is a great way to spend your time with a rock-wall, tennis and basketball courts, table tennis, pool, rifle range, dart boards, archery and a mechanical bull! All in all, this was a great resort, and i definitely recommend it!!!

Nice Resort, great entertainment, great food and drinks, nice beach, however, all we kept hearing is that the beaches further East near the Caribbean Sea are "nicer"
The rooms were clean and well appointed, except we had to move twice because the toilet did not work and the shower flooded the room @#%&#. 2nd and 3rd floor have no elevator
On Saturday the "natives" take over and it gets crowded, noisy and chaotic, by Sunday the calm returns. Be sure not to be placed in Building 1 which is the noisiest.
The SPA is not included in the "all inclusive" but it is very very nice and relaxing
Check out the other resorts and compare prices before booking. I do believe we got our monies worth

Room Tip: We preferred Building 3 (kind of half way between the beach and the restaurants and theater) Also t...

We stayed here for a wedding as part of a large group and had a lovely time JC, Felix and Wilson from the entertainment team were particularly friendly and made us feel welcome. The food was really nice lots to choose from and there is something for everyone to do here. First time in the dominican and I hope to come back. Thanks to all at dreams for making it an unforgettable holiday.

1. for men, bring at least one pair of long pants. Two of the restaurants require them for dinner and why would anyone think to bring pants to place with a low of 80 degrees?
2. The resort is large and there is quite a bit of walking if you are at the beach and want to eat from the buffet (the buffet is excellent, and I'm not a buffet person).
3. excellent food everywhere and good service in the restaurants
4. the explorers club for kids is excellent, the ladies there, Wendy, vicky,Caro, Marilyn all make you feel comfortable to leave your kids while you curl up with a book on the beach or participate in adult activites with the entertaiment team
5. The entertainment is fun and interactive. Wilbert, ysabel wilson et al all make for a fun time.
6. expect to sweat a LOT
7. My daughter and I used the snorkel gear from the hotel (put a deposit and got it back), went out to a reef right outside the swim area and it was better than the MArinarium snorkeling we paid for. The water was very clear and there was a ton of fish, coral, marina life etc.
8. buy yourself a bead necklace day one and you won't be bothered by the local vendors. They are all actually very nice and not a bother if you have fun with it.
9. If you want kick your vacation up a notch, throw a few $5 tips around and it takes on a new life!!
10. the horseback riding at el rancho diferente S A was excellent, my wife and two kids 6,11 along with myself thoughly enjoyed the ride.
11. The excursions to swim with the nurse sharks and rays are a rip off. snorkel for 20 minutes after a 30 second ride out to an enclosed area with no coral to take a picture with a ray (that you then buy) then criuse along the coast (500 yards) to a sand bar and listen to music and drink rum from a mini cup after eating a ham or turkey sandwich. (not worth $250). A fun time nonetheless, but not worth the $$. BTW 3 hours in a bus round trip.
12. the beds for the preferred club on the beach are heavely and I would recommend an afternoon siesta to break the day up!
13. bottom line, fun resort, good for families and gatherings. You get what you give.

Great pool and beach, beautiful landscaping, very relaxing. Food was better than expected for an all-inclusive, good service all around. Lack of communication caused some inconveniences. And yes there were problems getting room towels, but when you called they brought them right over. Rooms were decent enough...what I expect outside of the US. 99% of the staff was great, helpful and accommodating. Plenty to do for all ages. Joel Mercedes at Prieto Tours (on site) was extremely helpful. Great side trip to Saona Island. I would definitely return.
