“Please dont waste your money”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 March 2012

First when we arrived they had lost two pieces of luggage as they dropped it off at another hotel.
The rooms had mold on the edges of shower and the covers were torn and very old.
The pool ladder was broken on the deep end of pool so you couldnt get out.
My children 4,5, and 6 were served alchol in their drinks at the mexican restaurant. The waitress came up to us later and said sorry as the bartender made a mistake. My son was sick all night i am sure from this,
The shows were totally inappropriate for kids and even for adults. Used the word niger and the f word many times. When contacting manager about my issues she was off so wrote two letters with no response.
Food was horrible. Never had towels so dont go swimming after 3 as no towels to dry off. All french speaking and nobody spoke english.
Please dont waste your money. I am still trying to find the person in charge of this hotel so i can state my concerns If anyone knows the persons name or how to contact them please let me know.

I have been going to the DR for 7 years now and this resort is VERY old and it does need to be shut down and be redecorated!!! First of all I told 5 people about 3 people falling trying to get out of the pool in the deep end with a broken ladder that the top rung was broken off and the 2nd one down was wobbly no one could care less and went on to do nothing about it after 2 weeks down there the ladder was still broken and people had problems getting out (there were only 2 ladders for the pool to begin with). Unless you went to the far end where all the little kids were playing. We always found chairs by 6:00 in the morning by the pool otherwise your without and they keep there stuff on them all day and come back in the mid afternoon.

It is a very Eurpoean resort and they are the rudest people that I have ever met towards the Dominicans and everyone else. The bump you getting into the food line and do whatever they choose. There children run all over the resort while they are laying around the pool. The Americans and the Canadians were the only tippers!!!!!! I could not wait to get on the plane to here english speaking people. This is the first resort down there that we have ever had this problem with very rude people. Anotherthing if you want internet in your room for the week the internet lady (does not work for the resort) she will lie to you and tell you they DO NOT have weekly rates well they do it is $55.00 for the week and a $50.00 deposit for the white box to hook up in your room. IT IS only $15.00 if you go to the lobby and use there internet so do not let her lie to you that you cannot do it.

The food was good we ate at the Dominican rest, Japanese & La Cava they were all very good La Cava had the best food out of the three there steak was very good. The buffet had enough fo everyone you will not starve!!

Last but not least the ROOMS were the grosiest rooms that I have ever seen, we got the VIP room when we got there and there was a 15' wall on both sides of use and we saw nothing but wall and a little piece of the pool for VIP & Ocean view room that was not acceptable so we did complain to the front desk and 2 days later we were moved to an Oceanfront room the views were beautiful BUT the only downfall were the beds and pillows the sheets DO NOT fit the king size bed so they just put 2 sheets together and you wake up like a mummy in the morning and your body is touching the grosest mattress ever they are as old as my grandmother I wanted to vomit in my mouth everytime my body touched thte mattress so sleep was definatel deprived on this vaction due to the beds and popcorn pillows!!!!!!! VIP I thought you would get better treatment NOT!!!!!!The hot water was very good we were never without. They DO NOT give you wash clothes and towels are sometimes hard to get and are very stiff. I guess what I am trying to tell you all is that all the resorts that we have been to down there were 4 & 5 * this one is definately a 3* And with the VIP you get a spa coupon DO NOT pay for anything more than your 20 min free because your spouse can give you a better massage!!!!!

The infraestructure is great, the room was very good and well located. The employees are very receptive and polited, always smilling. However the buffet food was horrible, except for the breakfast: nice ingredients but poorly prepared (it was evident is was not carefully prepared but made for a lot of people) and bad maintained (some were reheated for so long until drying to a point to be impossible, like the chinese rice served burned one night). However, the specialized restaurants were a positive surprise, despite some distance to its origins, like the Brazilian Rodizio, not so Brazilian but I applaud the tentative. The drinks included, specially the frozen ones were too cheap, tasting like detergent.
The other issue is the hassle from sales people, all the time pushing you to buy something without, even if you show no interest. However, the beach was great, a beautiful place.

We just returned from a 10 day stay at the Caribe Club Princess in Punta Cana. This is a great resort. It is very clean, the grounds are full of tropical plants, trees, birds, and the beach is beautiful! The staff does an excellent job of keeping the place up. If you need anything, they are right on it. The food was wonderful. It included a nice variety of options, the Brazillion was our favorite. The Buffet had something for everyone.

Our rooms were excellent. I say rooms because we asked to move to the Garden view for the last 3 days because we wanted to experience the front of the building we were in. They were very helpful with this request. What we found is that if you like a quieter room at night and in the morning, you should ask for non-garden view. If you don't mind hearing a little of the night-life and want to be part of the morning activity, then request garden view. Either room has a balcony with a nice view.

Also, the activities crew did an excellent job of entertaining the guests, not only with the resort activities, but with their nightly performances.

I definitely recommend this resort!!

Room Tip: Ask them for a room on the 2nd or 3rd floor.

The resort itself was very nice. The restaurants were very clean and the food was pretty good. The first few days we were there the beach was awesome! After that we began noticing quite a bit of debris on the beach but it was still my favourite place to be. Our room wasn't the greatest but I didn't mind that so much because you are really only in there to sleep. The beds were not very comfortable and the roosters and peacocks kept waking us up, lol! We did have a total of 4 cockroaches in our room over the course of the week. Two prior to and two after we requested it to be fumigated (via a paper that was slid under our door). They were a bit stingy with their towels. The fridge contain 4 water and 4 pop, no alcohol. The fridge also did not keep the drinks very cold. I usually had to go to one of the bars and bring ice back to the room if we wanted to drink anything that was in the fridge. Luckily, the location of our room was close to everything. The pool bar, main restaurant and beach where just steps away. The overall service at the resort was not what I expected. No one was completely rude but (with a few exceptions) no one really seemed overly eager to be of service or friendly. If you choose to go here and do not speak Spanish then it is probably best if you can speak French as English was a bit trickier when it came to communicating. There were two exceptions when it came to service and because they were so good, I would like to mention them by name. Antonio from the pool bar was amazing! He was a very friendly, attentive waiter. He not only took the time to ask us our names but he remembered them and would talk to us every time he saw us. Antonio's energy and excitement is contagious. I do not think it would be possible to not be smiling in his presence. GREAT JOB ANTONIO! The only other stand out was Felipe from the main restaurant. After only eating there one day for both breakfast and supper he took notice of the little things. He knew we spoke English so everytime we came in after that he would say hello to us (even if he wasn't nearby when we first came in). He also knew that we would want coffee after our meal without us having to ask because he paid attention the night before (they automatically ask you if you want coffee at breakfast but not at supper). He even went as far as pulling our chairs out for us. GREAT SERVICE FELIPE! Overall, I had a very relaxing vacation which was my goal. Antonio and Felipe certainly helped in making our vacation that much more enjoyable :)
