Staff need training.

Andry from reception. He was very rude and not helpful at all upon check out. He messed us around and ignored us to speak to other guests. Left a sour taste in our mouth!! Not so lovely ending to our holiday. 😓😓😓 I feel he needs some customer service training and to work on his interpersonal skills and not speak down to others.

So after reading some negative reviews we as a family of 10 going to celebrate my daughters 21st decided to go with an open mind on what to expect and that was an enjoyable holiday and to make the most of it.

Upon on arrival from the uk the checking in of our 5 rooms was a little manic being told that 4 of the rooms with same surname add all been upgraded , however this left a set of grand parents put into a totally different block some way away after making a request at booking to be together. Anyhow this was resolved within a day which we were happy about.
Be aware with this hotel that ground floor rooms have a bath with shower over any other room 2nd or 3rd floor have walk in showers. We all stayed in block 42 and high we found the rooms to be very spacious and well equipped , the rooms were tidied everyday ie beds made , towels and fridge filled. Were they actually cleaned daily with towels and bedding changed I don’t believe they were , (but I didn’t expect that also).

We found plenty of food options to eat throughout the day , but ain’t going to lie there is some areas that could be looked at. Beach serves rare burgers and slow. Pool restaurant appears to struggle with cutlery at times. Burger van also serves rare burgers at times. Found breakfast to be great plenty of options with some great staff especially Ana and Victor they made us welcome every morning with a smile and knew what we all wanted to drink after 1 day which showed how much attention they paid

Found the bar areas a strange one all had a lot of selections but some days pool bar and beach bar ran out of drinks selections ie white wine for 2 days. Some evenings we could not get a beer with our dinner! Pool bar was very busy as at weekends you do appear to get a lot of local Dominicans arrive and they congregate around there. Also a lot of flies/wasps.

One person I would say made our stay good even when it was really bad with staff attitude and behaviour over a serious security issue was a lovely guy called Junior aka Mr Happy (give him a pay rise) who you will see cleaning around the facility smiling , singing and looking like he’s living his best life.

This place does have a few issues around its security processes and I highlighted these at the time in a meeting with management after hearing , seeing things and having situation occur to us.

This resort does have potential to be good if run right but right now I would say it’s a 3/3.5 star at best. And personally wouldn’t return again.

Marked this as a 1 … if this wasn’t for the the staffs attitude , rudeness and intimidation in a very serious matter where another guest was somehow allowed to enter my daughters room, however they soon turned this onto us without proof even though they had CCTV that we know proves who was wrong. I personally wish anyone visiting does not have to suffer what we did and I hope my highlighting concerns will make this now an isolated incident.

Friendly staff, the Japanese restaurant was the best with the steak restaurant coming in a close second. Kids liked the Italian food! The liquor seemed watered down, otherwise the food was as expected.

The staff made the experience a good one! Pool closes at 7, so no night swimming, bummer for me and the kids.

Room tip: All 4 of us hurt our backs from the water park. My son felt like he was going to go off the side on one slide, it was shut down quickly.

As a family of 4 (1 child) we have been here the last 7 days and have thoroughly enjoyed our holiday.
We booked this holiday over a year ago and joined the Facebook group about 4 months ago and was that worried from the reviews on Facebook I consider changing hotels!
The bad reviews you are reading are wrong and misleading.
Transfer was quick and easy, checking in was super speedy and hassle free.
Bags were taken to our rooms.
Rooms are specious, lovely, have good air con and celling fan and clean even though we spent very little time in them as entertainment round the pool, through the day and evening entertainment was really good and kept us busy.
There is so much food to choose from 3 buffets, snack bars, beach bbq, snack van plus 6 al carte restaurants, raw bar, steak house, Italian, Mediterranean, American dinner and Japanese (they all have good availability).
Staff are super friendly and happy to help where they can, bar staff are also helpful to all not just Spanish speaking people (I’m English and don’t speak Spanish) remember staff work long days in very hot weather it’s nice to tip.
Pool is a really good size, there’s also a kids pool and a lazy pool.
Pool entertainment has been great espically the foam party. (The pool does NOT smell of pee)
Water park is bigger than I first thought with something for everybody, slide come out in shallow water so swimmers and non swimmers can ride. Steps to slide are perfectly fine and safe.
I haven’t use the kids club as my child is older but have seen a lot of happy kids attending.
There is a towel station available to all.
There is a coffe shop, sports bar and games room which is free for all.
There is a lot of trips you can book once at the resort such as boat rides, swimming with dolphins, visiting a monkey park, buggy riding and much much more.
Weather forecast said rain in a week I’ve seen rain twice it rained for 20 to 30 minutes clouds cleared and sun came back out it’s been really hot!
The only negative thing I have to say is I wish I’d of book 10/14 days rather then 7 it’s been a pleasure and would happily return.

Room tip: Check the touch screen board in reception so you are aware of all day events and don’t miss out.

Decided to with the family and here's what we thought.

Hotel - 3/5 for sure. Room was very clean so no complains however they definitely can use upgrades.

Pool - 3/5 One area is great for kids. The adult side is too deep and no bar unless you are closer to the kid side. Bar area is always full with a tons of flies around. Staff around the pool is hard to find, which was a let down as we travel to dominican quite often and this was one of the reasons why we went back many times since service is almost always amazing.

Entertainment by pool 3/5 - Could definitely use more creativity but overall satisfactory.

Entertainment Nightime 3/5 - Went each night to see entertainment and the favorite night was when they did the dominican republic night. This was really nice as you see what their culture was about.

Nightclub and DJ - 1/5 was terrible and lighting was next to none lol... This place has lots of potential but it was terrible.

Buffet 4/5 - Food was very good, staff was amazing for the most part. We had a lady name maribel serve us a couple of times and she did an amazing job.

Unfortunately one night I had a bad experience as we were at the buffet for dinner and the cook at the grill had 5 pieces of meat with 4 people in the line up. The head cook gave 2 pieces to the first person and 3 pieces to the 2nd person and then walked away without acknowledging the rest of the people who were waiting. This would be a main reason why I wouldn't come back. This gentleman just didn't seem to care which is ashame as overall everyone in the resort had been very friendly.

Overall, the grand sirenis was a great family trip as everything was satisfactory but I do agree with the property needing TLC and certain areas needing more attention and better managed.

Nice trip with the family ! We have a lot of fun ! The aquagames is a big must for the Kids ! The rooms where pretty clean everyday , the services at the bars and the restaurants are a little bit slow but it wasn't an issue for us.

We try the spa and get a very deep massage with Yadelkis and Jacqueline, those hands are magical.
