Late in the evening, on business trip, with paid reservation in hand, I arrived at my usual hotel only to find that it had been entirely closed for remodeling. No one told me! Booking agency goofed! What to do?! There was a contact person who offered me alternate lodging at a "Hostal". Oh, whatta wonderful surprise when I walked into "Nicolas de Ovando", a pleasure to be treated like a true Guest, welcomed and appreciated. The Hotel, not hostal, was wonderful, quietly located in the Colonial Area, within walking distance to many sites. Grand delicious fresh breakfast kept me going all day. Bed so comfortable. Rooms spotless. I have found a new fav hotel for business and pleasure. The staff was helpful in every aspect.
