I spent a night before hiking segment 1 of the Dominica Waitikubuili National Trail. The Queen bed which was well made was quite comfortable. I was very pleased to choose from an assortment of teas and coffee which was placed in the kitchen and bottled water on the fridge. The night was great. Scott's Head is a great community. I will come again on my next visit.
It is located a short walk up the hill , in a quiet neighborhood of nice homes - above the town of Scott's Head. It is within walking distance of the headlands, the most Southern point of the island, snorkeling, and also the start of the first section of the National Trail.
The good things about the apartment are the better than average queen bed, the excellent internet connection, the clean towels and linens, hot water shower, the appliances all work. Deborah communicates via the web sites she advertises on and her mother lives above this apartment. Both are extremely workable in trying to get the things you need.
The downside of this place, is that it is not clean. We did not use the small living area, because of the very dirty rug and dusty cushions. We also found that the TV did not work, which the owners did not know about. We wanted a self-catering apartment, because we want to cook our own meals, but the kitchen was not very clean and the lower cabinets smelled musty when you had to open them. The unit is older and needs some care and cleaning.
The owner and her mother are very nice lady's and we hate to give any negatives, but it is only fair to let others know what you are renting. We would recommend this unit to a friend, if it was cleaned, with things like the rug out and just the hard floors that can be swept and mopped and one knows it has been cleaned. Also if the kitchen stove, sink, cabinets and floor were cleaned.
