This hotel is quite far out of the actual city and taxi fares into the city were £10.00 each way so quite expensive. Our room had a great view out over the city and had been refurbished but when using the shower the whole room flooded. We reported this to reception and were told that was common and given extra towels to mop up the water!!

Room tip: Higher rooms have a better view of the city

You won't be terribly disappointed. Remember where you are, with reasonable expectations this location will meet your expectations. Not in the class of Parque Central or the Saratoga. However, the hotel is clean, and the facility has recently been renovated. Roof top pool and bar area is a most stop. Nice place to get a drink and see the Havana skyline. Location is not ideal since you need a cab to go back and forth to old Havana area, but works well if you want to stroll the Malecon.

Check in was quick but no welcome drink on arrival. We were, however, pleasantly surprised to find a cake and a letter in our room congratulating my husband on his birthday. Our room was well equipped with fridge, hairdryer, iron and safe but there were no tea/coffee making facilities, which we would have appreciated. Housekeeping was very good and there was a good selection of toiletries. Beware that the bottle of water left in the bathroom will cost you 4 CUC and the minibar items are also expensive for non-branded items that you can buy yourself very reasonably at the shop down the road.

We didn't need money the night we arrived as it was so late, however, the hotel has a 24 hrs money changing service. Taking the advice of other travellers, we changed our money at the Hotel Nacional just down the road, as they gave a much better rate, but remember to bring some ID with you.

Breakfast at the hotel was a good selection but it is not what you may be used to for a 5* hotel. You need to keep in mind that this is Cuba and they do not have extensive ranges of foodstuffs. We loved the porridge and freshly made omelettes by the lovely Sunian, so we were happy enough at breakfast.

The small rooftop pool was a nice bonus at the end of the day and the bar staff here are particularly happy and helpful. There is a lady there who will also issue you with pool towels if you need them.

This hotel is a fair way away from the old town. A taxi should cost no more than 10 CUC but be careful to establish the price and negotiate BEFORE you take the taxi. Overall, this hotel was good but what made it stand out is the friendliness of staff. Apart from a couple of not so happy reception staff, all other staff were especially friendly and very happy and go out of their way to talk to you and help you. There is also security at the main reception doors and around other areas, which is reassuring.

Room tip: Higher floors have better views and will lessen traffic noise.

Very close to the Malecon (waterfront), it holds a gorgeous view from the rooftop (along with a good bar and a freezing pool (do not recommend)). While the actually look of the hotel may be subpar, as well as the size of the rooms, this hotel is respectable compared to its counterparts in the area. Additionally, the breakfast was delicious, and staff were helpful. Currency exchange can be done at the front desk. Live music can be found in the lobby in the evenings. Recommend getting a lower floor, due to the packed nature of the hotel and the constant use of the elevator (stairs are your only option); however, good views are at the top, if you are positioned well in the hotel!

Room tip: go to the roof or bar for cocktails and great views. Open gym is mediocre.

8 days in Havana staying at the Hotel NH Capri. The day wouldn't have started without a hearty breakfast, coffee served by smiling Elizabeth & omelettes by friendly Sunian. Hotel clean & spacious but lacked outside seating other than the rooftop pool area, which was rather small. Brilliant location for the Malecon & Hotel National (which has a gorgeous garden & historical trenches) & for getting out and about in Old Havana & Central Havana!
Don't change your Sterling to CUC in hotel as there is a 5% fee they don't mention - go to El Cambio on 23/J (its next to the bank)
Take a brolly! When it rains it's like a monsoon ☔️
Enjoy
