I bought 2 kilos of coffee to bring back to the USA. I should have brought back more. One more thing. You are legally allowed to bring back 100 Cuban cigars and one liter of rum. However, if you bring back more you may have to only pay a duty. I brought back 60 Cuban cigars and 5 liters of rum, two painting one for $300 and the other for $60. No duty and walked through customs without any issue.

a lot of different people recommended this place to us where we would find the best coffee in town. the first time we visited the place there was no water available for making coffee - that's Cuba, so no issue. So we tried it a 2nd time in the next morning. Waiting time for service is quite long, coffee is good, but nothing special and for our bill we went inside after waiting again quite some time (already considering that time in Cuba is different).

Our last and only morning in Havana, we visited Cafe El Escorial which we had found the evening before while walking after dinner. We were very pleased with our selection. Since the morning was already hot, we opted for the cold blanco y negro and a flan. Both were delicous. And the price was amazing, approximately $4 CUCs. If we get the chance to go back to Havana, this will be one of my first stops.

Great coffee shop on the old square. Vast range of different coffees, many with rum and cream.

Thought we would chance rum in coffee before midday and didn’t regret it.

Would certainly recommend to anyone wanting a great coffee to start the day!

The iced coffee was delicious and perfect when we enjoyed it on a hot summer day. We also had a selection of desserts among the members of our group and those were also wonderful. It was relaxing to sit in the square in the shade on a hot day. We went back the next day for fresh ground coffee to bring home.
