Was down last week of March. Can't express my gratitude for the hospitality at the hotel. Especially Ivette and Zotina who made our stay fabulous. Will be returning and many thanks to the staff of the resort. Recommend it highly, but only if you want to have an amazing time.

So glad we decided on this hotel and didn't go by the negative reviews. Our travel agent booked us in the Royal level. Our room was on the 8th floor and had a beautiful view of the ocean and the pool, and a great view of the countryside. Rooms were spacious and clean. We did not have any issues with the Wi-Fi and was able to connect on the beach. The food was good, there was always different choices you didn't go away hungry. We were able to make our reservations the night that we got there with no issues. Italian and the Hibachi restaurants were our favorite. The beach was beautiful and kept clean some of the hotels down the way had problems with seaweed. My biggest complaint of the hotel is is that you have to be up at 5:30 in the morning to get a beach chair. I'm sorry this is unacceptable we are on vacation for the money we pay everybody should have their own beach chair. We noticed towels and bags are sometimes left from the night before everything should be taken down or they paid the beach staff. The chairs around the pool also need upgrading their old and uncomfortable. The swim up bar was great. Bartenders did a good job of taking care of everyone and drinks were not watered down. Nightly entertainment was so so it was pretty much kind of the same thing every night. Michael and the staff did a great job around the pool mingling with guests. Would have been nice to have some music around the pool when things weren't going on and they need to change it up a little bit it seem like it was the same thing everyday. The hotel is close to everything you could walk across the street and go downtown and feel perfectly safe. We did eat once up at the Royal level restaurant and that was kind of creepy because no one was there and there was no background music but the food was really good. We did the UTV tour which was a blast and the Sunset Cruise I highly recommend. We would definitely come back to this resort!

We are very pleased to read that you liked the room we accommodated you in and that you found it to be clean and comfortable at all times.
It is also good to know that you enjoyed the many culinary delights prepared by our professional Chefs who always strive to offer a wide variety of typical delights in order to please all palates and we thank you for letting us know that we could conquer yours.
With regards to the palapas on the beach, our hotel is governed by a policy of arrival order. According to the hotel policy reserving palapas and lounge chairs is not allowed. We do our best to ensure the following of this standard, especially during high occupancy when this happens more often and we apologize if exceptionally during your stay we weren’t able to have a total control on this matter.

Last but not least, our staff welcomes each guest with the Barceló spirit and strives to assist in any possible way to ensure everyone has a pleasant stay, it is indeed very rewarding to read that you have appreciated their genuine helpfulness throughout your holidays among us.

This was my first stay at Barcelo, we have family members
that have been staying for years.
They recommended the upgrade to Royal Club, So glad
we made that decision. Sandra was our go to for all our needs.
When Sandra was busy helping other guests, Veronica stepped in
and took care of all our needs.
Our room was clean, our bed was unbelievably comfortable.
Had the opportunity meeting Kathleen Green in Royal Club
check in office. Told her what a wonderful job the housekeepers do.
We had towels at night delivered with a turndown from a wonderful smiling Lina..
Bartenders were all professional, Angela, Roddy, Michael and Erwin..
They were great..
Special thank you to Mrs. Labrador for correcting an issue that OUR TRAVEL Agent
had not taken care of!! Mrs. Labrador was wonderful, informative and willing to assist with
errors are travel agent made!
The beach was wonderful, best beach is at Barcelo.
The grounds are always clean, throughout the day workers are always working nonstop.
I love the location and the resort.
What really will have us return? The staff!!!
Our family members are going to say, told you how great the resort is!
They’re correct, we’re returning, from this point on, Barcelo Aruba is our only destination..

This was my first time in Aruba, my boyfriend had been previously but only on cruises so this was a first for both of us as neither of us had ever done the "all inclusive" thing before. We loved it! We payed for the "royal level" upgrade and I would highly recommend doing this as everything from checking in to reserving tables was handled by our own "concierge" , Veronica- she was superb even when it came to handling a refund situation that occurred as a result of a misunderstanding w/the the spa. For an all inclusive, the food was spectacular, much better than what you get on cruise ships! We ate breakfast & lunch at the Palm Buffet almost daily and Ronaldo, our waiter, was prompt, friendly and kept us smiling with his easy nature and great sense of humor! We ate dinner at the Japanese, Italian and Mexican restaurants and all were fantastic! We can't say enough kind things about all of the staff: our room service, Francia was super sweet and so freindly, the bartenders throughout the resort and the beach staff (My favorite was Wilquime (sp) ) made us feel at home and perfectly at ease.
A couple of things you should know: Yes, you have to get up at the crack of dawn (or before) to get a seat by the pool. It is what it is. It's like that EVERYWHERE. If we were unable to get a pool seat, we'd head to the beach in the morning and by afternoon, we were able to get pool seats. Adapt, you're on vacation, no need to get ugly about it as we saw many people doing.
There is really only one bar (aside from the pool and/or beach bar) in the hotel and it's in the lobby. It was nice but it felt "dark" and a bit like a Las Vegas casino bar because of the dark atmosphere. with such natural beauty outside and the perfect Aruba Climate, I'm not sure why more resorts like the Barcelo, don't take advantage of it and have an open air bar or a brighter, more "carribean" type atmosphere in the bar. This is the only negative feedback I have on this resort.

Room Tip: Pay for Royal Level Upgrade for better Drink/Service options!

We booked ocean view room but upgreated to royal club. Great choice. Overall this resort is great to stay with family. Great entertainment during the day at the pool and beach. Night shows need some improvements. Food at the buffet is ok but not great. Different at restaurants. Great tasting food with quick service in exemption to Italian where we waited almost hour. Wi fi works in all areas. Overall great place with lots of friendly staffs
