We had just finished the morning jeep safari tour when our amazing guide Joal suggested having lunch at Waka Waka. We were both starving so it was an easy choice. It was the perfect simple meal. Good burger, good fries, and great service. Our water was constantly refilled and the entire staff was very attentive. We truly enjoyed our time there and may go back for the early bird special which is a great deal...

Raul suggested lunch and Aruba Ariba's after his tour....we were not disappointed. They make great BBQ and catch of the day!

Hi there Mark A!

Thank you so much for your positive review :)

The BBQ sauce is the recipe of the Owner's Mother-In-Law, so I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed a local recipe!

Hope to see you back at Waka Waka for more Aruba Ariba's!

Have a great day.

Upon arriving in Aruba, it was our first time, the cab driver said make sure you go to Waka Waka. We went for dinner and the place was empty, I chalked that up to it was early evening. The waiter was attentive and we did have good service but the food was just OK. My husband had the BBQ plate, ribs were good, chicken was dry. My fish was fresh, however did not have any flavor at all. The accompaniments were blah, yellow rice that had been in the pot for a while and a few vegetables. A dinner that one does not want to remember. The next day, we went on an ABC jeep tour, that was great, and we had lunch at Waka Waka. The both businesses are owned by the same person. This time I had the chicken and it was OK not as dry as the night before but the same, dry, blah rice and a few overcooked vegetables. We were very disappointed and would not recommend a visit here since there are so many restaurants in Aruba where the food is better.

I am the type to prepare for weeks for a vacation. So I bought books, looked at web sites and looked at forums. As a retired chef I take reviews with "a grain of salt". There were 4 of us travelling to Aruba for a leisurely vacation. It was suggested that we try the Waka Waka Cafe. We went in early and got the early bird special. This is a good test to see if the kitchen is really ready to to go. This appetizers were all excellent. The sauces were on the side (two to choose from) and these were spot on. We had three different items off of the menu and they were absolutely PERFECT. The plate presentation was what you would expect from a 4 or 5 star restaurant but the portions were more than you would expect. The deserts were equally as delicious. If you are going to Aruba this is a must as far as I am concerned. Refrain was our server and he was great. He was a lot of fun to talk to

Went for dinner midweek, not busy/crowded, no reservation. The waiter, older man, dark hair & glasses acted as though we were a bother to him. We were never asked about drinks other than the water given, we had to ask for napkins. He never returned during dinner to ask if we were satisfied or refill water glasses. A younger waiter working at a nearby table refilled the water when he noticed our empty glasses. Food was good, nothing special. The cheesecake dessert was very good. Too many other good options in Aruba, last visit to Waka Waka.

We always appreciate honest feedback, and will definitely use it constructively.
Thank you for the Kudos on the cheesecake, it's my favorite dessert!
