Description: Aruba is all about the fabulous beaches during the day, and the many great restaurants at night. It is only logical that these two unique things of Aruba are combined into one! Luc & Gerco found the perfect spot to synergize great food, and a beautiful setting to create an experience almost unique on our island. When listening to the ocean caressing the shore, while wiggling your toes through the pearly white sand, why not let yourself be pampered by a gourmet dinner? Chef Gerco & Maitre d' Luc had a shared dream of opening up a restaurant here, but wanted something in line with what they enjoy on Aruba: the nearly perfect climate, the possibility to always be outside, the tropical feel... When opening their restaurant, they had these ideas in their heads, and it worked like a charm! Tables under a large palapa on a wooden deck with a view of the ocean, or outside under the Aruban nights sky, on the pristine beach... An original menu was created by Gerco and team, with some of the old school favorites as well as locally influenced dishes. With the help of the local wine suppliers, Luc made an extensive wine list, with wines from all over the world, and is always ready to pair a wine with your dinner. The experienced service team is friendly yet professional, ready to wow you from the moment you walk in, to make a fabulous evening into a great memory on Aruba!

“Great food - great service, good prices and great view - location is so-so?”
Reviewed 2 December 2010

Let me start with the positive. The food was really wonderful and the service was great. The views at sunset are really nice but the location leaves a little to be desired. It's located in the back of an abandoned building and a pot hole filled parking lot near the airport. Being near the airport is actually pretty cool - watching jets land at sunset with surprisingly little nosie was very entertaining. However it's right next to a beach shack that's a little sketchy. Lots of kids and dogs running around in the water in front of the beach side tables. A few stray dogs had to be shooed away and I actually saw a rather large rodent scurry under the boardwalk. I would come back in a minute, but I would opt for a table in the beautifully appointed restaurant or on the deck away from the dogs and other critters. The beachside "toes in the sand " atmosphere really doesn't add anything here. That being said, the interior is beautiful and again the food is amazing. I'd recommend it, but stay on the deck or in the restaurant. Same view, no problems. They have something special here, but it's not perfect - yet.

“No shoes? No Problem”

A wonderful dining experience by the water-Beach front dining at its best-You can sit on the beach and wiggle your toes in the sand while you sip on wine or a drink or eat a delicious meal and stare out at a moonlit sky or just gaze at the stars. My wife and I had a truly wonderful dinner there on November 10th-We started with a delicious tomatoe soup and than had fresh grouper with a cream cheese and chive sauce-with a very good bottle of wine all in a very no hurried atmosphere Whether you sit on the beach and let the water lap at your feet or you sit under the large hut in the main room it is a true dining on the beach experience not to be missed.Luc is a gracious host and his staff are friendly and experienced.Don't miss this wonderful dining experience-great food good price for the value and a place where you can enjoy the beach -even if it is the evening-PS you don't need sun

“Most Imaginative in Aruba”
Reviewed 28 October 2010

Barefoot is a superior experience not to be missed in Aruba. Difficult to find, a great hideaway which will be a benefit once more people know about it. Actually a little hesitant to write this review as I am afraid too many people will go - but we like the place so much and want the owners to be successful so we can enjoy the experience for years to come, I am forced to write! I am sure you will agree once you enjoy dinner here.

We had a beach table with the gentle sounds of the sea mixed with the light jazz.. Perfect break from the normal loud restaurants in Aruba. Dim light from the shore and under the stars & moon light, what more could you want!

The food is exquisite as is the presentation. Imaginative dishes like the perfectly done appetizer scallops /w vanilla bean is one of our favorites. Even the veggies are fresh - no frozen mush here. I had the pepper crusted fresh tuna. Veggies underneath along with perfect hand mashed potatoes. So good.

I'd say take the time to find it by doing a dry run in the day time - you will not be disappointed! I just wished that they were open for a limited quick light lunch to hit on the way to the airport! Sure would beat anything else.

“Best Restaurant on the Island!”
Reviewed 18 October 2010

Everyone needs to put this restaurant on their list for their next trip to Aruba! The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is perfect. Don't waste your time driving all the way to Flying Fishbone when you can go to Barefoot! Guests have the option of sitting at tables in the sand or "inside" under the giant palapa. Even if you choose to sit under the palapa, everyone still gets great views of the water and can hear the waves gently coming on shore as you eat.

This restaurant was recently opened by the former chef and manager from Marandi restaurant. The menu is fantastic. Goat Cheese salad is top notch, seafood, tenderloin, duck, etc...are all delicious.

Very unassuming location by the roundabout between downtown Oranjestad and the Airport. A bit tough to find for your first trip but once you're there, it's beautiful. "Elegant Dining in Flipflops" is the motto and very appropriate.

Reasonable prices and atmosphere unlike anything you'll get on the High Rise strip. Definitely make sure to include Barefoot on your next trip to the island!!

“Great food, Great atmosphere.”
Reviewed 14 October 2010

Barefoot was the last restaurant on our trip to Aruba. The food from the before dinner drinks to the dessert was excellent. Sitting on the beach enjoying the sunset and great food on our last night made our trip perfect. The staff made you fell welcome and was very attentive. There were three in our party and we all had something different and enjoyed everything. I would defintely make this restaurant a regular stop on a trip to Aruba.
