Let me start by saying that it is not the Ritz. In its own quiet way, it is much better! I instantly felt welcomed like family and was overcome by the beauty of this little ecolodge. Nope, you do not have all the comforts of home. First off, why would you even want to watch TV when the scenery is so spectacular? All the windows are screened so I found I didn't miss A/C at all; the breeze off the lake was cooling and the sound of the waves like a lullaby. Everything we ate and drank while we were there was grown, harvested and prepared on site. Yes, even the rice! They make their own cheese and coffee, both of which are delicious! Their honey is from their own bee hives and has a taste quite unlike Canadian honey but equally delicious. I have been in Nicaragua for a month now and, so far, the Tierra Blanca has been my most comfortable stay. I am adjusted to asking for a pump to be turned on so that I may have a shower and to having a cool shower, so neither of these things bothered me. Ask Hernan to give you a tour of the farm!
