At the onset, lets forget the last 6 kms of the journey, its not in the hands of management however work has started by the Govt. and soon it would be better is what we have been told. So, on with the next bit - The Concept.
I have had my experiences with "eco tourism" in Bengal, it came to a point where we decided not to try any thing to do with ECO as lot of "Businesses" have come up which provides nothing by stating that "we are a ECO resort". They should come to Mon chasha. the Basus have done really well to deserve the ECO responsibility tag, waste management, energy management, natural resource utilisation, local community involvement, reducing carbon footprints and much more.
However, keeping aside the technicalities, what really blows your mind is the warm hospitality and the quality of the stay. Unlike many other "ECO" resorts, there is no compromise on basic comforts, sleep quality and food hygiene. One needs to come here and check the entire practice of how well each and every aspect is monitored so actively.
On the vacation spot, its nicely tucked in the rural belly of Bengal where air is fresh, grass is green and the water has a taste which lingers on, the attraction is the place itself and hence do not plan to do "sight seeing" while you are in Mon chasha, you will be dissapointed.
