We had a great full day guided tour with Dustin. He was really knowledgeable and shared lots of insights and history. Our group was 5 and there were 9 in total so the van ride was relatively comfortable. More than that and it would have been tight. Lunch in Cameron was really good. We were all stuffed. And the trading post was really a cool stop for shopping too. It was a really good way to see the Grand Canyon for our first day and helped us get more comfortable driving in on our own the next day.

We had the 'Just for buses' welcome and talk with Tim.
What a welcome to THE canyon... Champagne and listening to Tim explain, very eloquently, the evolution of the grand canyon. I had heard the onfirmation before but this time I understood it.

Dave’s Grand Canyon tour was a a five star rating! Keaton was our guide. His knowledge of the canyon, plant life, and wild life was quite impressive. His ability to share that knowledge and communicate it, made him an excellent tour guide. The tour was not at all physically demanding yet we saw so much. To top it off with a traditional meal at a Navajo trading post! I highly recommend this tour.

Our tour began early when we were picked up at our hotel in Williams by our guide Keaton. On the drive up to the canyon, Keaton explained the ecology and geology of the area, describing formation of various features of the area, As the day progressed, at every site we visited, Keaton gave a thorough and easy to understand description of the geology, ecology, and history. The geological history of the area from before the days when the area was covered by and ocean and many of the sedimentary layers were deposited was particularly interesting; as were the descriptions of the expeditions to navigate the Colorado.

In addition to "the science", there was an excellent description of the recent history and uses of the canyon as well as anecdotes and tall tales of events over the past 200 years.

The tour itself took us to various locations along canyon, starting at Yavapai Point and then moving on to other areas that would be difficult to access on foot or bike (due to the distance) in a single day. Some of the features included Mary Colter's tower and the Last Chance Mine and views of the canyon and Colorado River along various points.

When we travel, my wife and I typically prefer to go off and explore on our own and if we're on a tour, look for early opportunities to shed the tour and get away on our own. Although this was an all day tour, it held our interest through out the day and we didn't feel the same need to get away.

Canyon Dave's is an excellent organization that seems very dedicated to providing an interesting and informative experience to their clients. From the first contact to book the tour until we were dropped off at our hotel and the end of the day, I can't think of a negative thing to say. It was a very pleasant and easy experience. I would highly recommend this tour.

Our tour guide was Keyton, (works sun, Mon, tues, and wed). He was a great guide, very polite and knowledgeable of the area! The tour will take you to the most impressive scenic view points along the southern to eastern rim. Great gem of places where you can literally stand on the edge of the canyon. You then lunch at the Navajo reservation which was great. Full day tour and packed full. It was great seeing the elk as well!

We had a great day at the Grand Canyon with our tour guide Keaton. He was so knowledgeable about all the rocks and trees and the history of the area. We loved learning new things while on the tour. We stopped at all the best overlooks and at the watchtower. He had the drinks, snacks and umbrellas (which we used briefly). And on the way back to our hotel in Flagstaff, we stopped at Cameron and ate at the trading post. This was very Interesting also, since it is on the Navajo reservation. The food was good and plentiful! The gift shop is huge and has everything you can think of. I would highly recommend this tour to see the Grand Canyon for the first time. It was fantastic!
