Review of Aguereberry Point

This was definitely the greatest place we visited whilst staying in Death Valley. The place and the views were stunning (and we are Norwegians and used to stunning views). The place is at close to 2000 m elevation and you see down to the salt lake and Badwater. The view is really 360deg. When going there, remember that hardship that the people who mined there must have had. A must for everyone but remember a high clearance vehicle. The road is safe but a bit scary the last 100m or so.

Staying at the Quillayute River Resort in La Push, Wa. Located on a quiet river in the woods, with bald eagles in the trees, fishing in the river and close to great hikes and beaches on the rugged undeveloped Washington coast. Wow. What a find. Great kitchen with lots of utensils and accessories,so quiet and peaceful, only 6 units, that are up to date, very clean and well maintained. If you like to eat in and relax, this is a great place to stay.

What an amazing view of Death Valley. High clearance vehicle is helpful but someone came up in a Toyota Camry while we were at the view point at the top. A couple of hairy narrow turns but mostly just washboard shaking for the 6 mile drive. Glad we didn't meet someone on the narrow steep curve. Well worth it for the view.

Breathtaking views of death valley just under your feet. without a doubt - the best viewpoint in death valley. best time to visit - just before sunset. 4WD required.

As already noted, the drive is, shall we say, 'challenging'. The view, while nice, paled in comparison to the views from Zabriskie Point and Dante's View (and for the more adventuresome, Wildrose Peak). A visit to Eureka Mine is an excellent side trip if you're in that area and worth the short drive. But in our opinion, if you're planning on spending some time driving to an overlook, go to Dante's View instead of Aguereberry Point.

Best summary we can provide? The only picture we took was a 'selfy' of us and the 'Aguereberry Point Elev. 6433 ft.' sign.
