You have few options in Death Valley. Stove Pipe Wells is an adequate motel with a more-than-adequate restaurant for dinner (breakfast "buffet" less-than-adequate). Hot water was available only four of our six showers, but there was no extra charge for the bat in our room. Staff was disinterested, they know they have a captive audience. Nonetheless, DV is worth a visit of several days to experience the beautiful and weird landscape and exceptional hiking and photography.
