This cottage slept 5 adults and 2 children comfortably. The view was amazing and we felt very secluded even though we were only 2-3 miles from all necessities. We spent a lot of time in Acadia NP which was about a 20min drive from the cottage. Bar Harbor was close as well but was a very busy little town that seemed a bit difficult to navigate during peak times (go early) but had a lot of activities & shops. The kitchen was stocked with all the utensils needed for cooking and had a nice open floor plan for socializing with others with handling kitchen duty. There was easy access to the water for kayaks or just walking around stage shore. My favorite thing in the house was a large futon located in one of the queen bedrooms that allowed our small kids to sleep nearby (and not right on top of us). There was a nice fun park located within 10 minutes and several nice restaurants.

“The view was incredible and everything we needed was available in the house.”

The vacation cottage was everything we hoped it would be. It was not fancy, but it was extremely clean and the kitchen was well-supplied, so we were able to cook easily. The location was the biggest draw of the property because of its view of the bay and the wooded, private lot and its proximity to Acadia, Ellsworth, and Bar Harbor. We were able to avoid traffic jams because we could take back roads. We had three couples on the vacation, which the house was easily able to accommodate. There was a fourth room with a twin and a trundle, but we did not need to use that room. Eight people might have been a stretch. The owner was honest about the property, accommodating, and easy to work with. When the price was considered, this was a definite bargain. We had a great time and would love to go back.
