La Dispensa is located on the town piazza in the center of Strada. We were on our way to Castello di Gabbiano and stopped here for what turned out to be the perfect lunch. We were welcomed like long-lost friends by La Dispensa family: Gregorio, the head chef, his wife, and his father Andrea. The beautiful October weather allowed us to enjoy the outdoor garden seating. The specialty of the house is a delicious platter of local meat and cheese. We also shared a half pizza, freshly made to order. Paired with local Chianti wine, we could have lingered there all afternoon. This is a lovely stop on the Via Chiantigiana (SR 222). I recommend you find your way here!
