“Great place to stay with super food and friendly staff.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 March 2012

We found this on-line and the reviews were all justified. The situation so near the cove is lovely with wonderful walks from the hotel. The staff were great and the food was terrific; beautifully presented with very good choice particularly at breakfast. We appreciated the quality of the bedlinen and toilet items. We were recommended the restaurant by another B&B establishment locally which speaks volumes. We would love to return.

Room Tip: Room 7 is great. Large with very nice bathroom.

Lulworth Mill House is in a lovely lane that after a couple of hundred yards leads to the sea at Lulworth Cove, perfect for a short stroll before breaksfast or taking the night air before bed. The food in the Dandelion bistro is excellent, very reasonably priced and the portion sizes generous. Each dish comes as either a small or normal portion. 2 generous starters, small mains (which was plenty), a bottle of Chablis and 2 coffees came in at £51. The front of the hotel overlooks a lovely pond/stream with ducks so has a very quaint feel to it. The hotel is a cople of minutes stroll to the foot of the hill which takes you to Durdle Door. Free parking in the car park was included in the price of our room which was simple, but extremely comfortable. There is surprisingly good soundproofing between the rooms and the restaurant. The staff were lovely. All in all this hotel is in a great location for families and a great comfy bolthole for those who love Lulworth Cove.

Room Tip: As for room 6 if you want to overlook the pond//stream.

We are very local to The Mill House. We dined there last night and what a pleasure it was! At last, somewhere local to eat excellent food with extremely good service and very friendly. Not many places make 'The Locals' feel very wanted, but The Mill House certainly does! The food was exquisit and wonderfully presented by the chef with a very good, happy Front of House team. We have also eaten breakfast at The Mill House several times, which we can describe as 'the most healthy fat boy breakfast in the world'. Thank you Darren and your team for a wonderful evening. The coffee is fabulous too!

We were recommended to eat here by another local establishment, which speaks volumes!
We were not disappointed. We lunched in the Daffodils restaurant twice, and each time the food from the interesting menu was beautifully prepared and presented, and the staff extremely pleasant. They even accommodated a crowd of us turning up just for a drink on a Saturday evening. Brilliant! We will come again in July, but I suspect we will need to book. It was busy in February!

I booked this place on line and was totally satisfied with every aspect of our stay. Room number 4 is small but with a HUGE bed and has an outside door leading to the patio. It was beautifully clean, the food was superb - brilliantly presented and having to make a choice from the menu was a real problem. It captures passing trade as it IS only 50 metres from Lulworth Cove and although you have to take your luggage down with you from the car park for which they provide a free permit it isn't a problem. We can't speak highly enough about the service which was prompt, friendly and indeed nothing was too much trouble. It is an undiscovered gem and my only worry about writing this review is that I won't be able to get a room when next I book! Check with the manager when the bistro is closed - Sunday night from last orders at 5.30pm and all day Monday seems to be the norm at the moment but maybe this will change in high season. An all round good place for a break with loads to do and see round the area. We loved it and will go back asap once I appropriate my partner's cheque book!

Room Tip: There are two rooms that overlook the sea if you want that but we were happy with being on the spot...
